I booked this property because the pictures made the house look fairly new and comfortable. PROS: the owner responds to questions right away and is helpful. It is a 2 minute walk to the lake. The owner has provided dishware, soap, detergent for the washer, towels and plenty of bed linens. You will like this property if you like rustic or antiquated furnishings. There are air-conditioners and fans for use on hot days.
CONS: We were informed that the house was cleaned prior to our arrival, but the bed coverings did not smell fresh. The couch was stained and covered with old sheets. There was an overall musty smell that permeated the house, which initiated allergic reactions in two people in our party. The odor may be due to the fact that the house is so close to the water. A frequent airing out of the house by leaving the windows open could help with this issue. I am an avid coffee drinker and there is a Mr. Coffee maker provided. However, it is very old, the plate is burned, and there were forgotten grinds in the filter which had started to grow mold. For planning purposes, there are 4 twin beds, two of which are joined as a bunk bed. The fifth bed is a double bed. It is a 40 minute ride to downtown Syracuse. If you plan to spend a lot of time there, you will spend too much time travelling back and forth. The grill and "fire-pit" were covered in tree branches. The price was high compared to other local accommodations. There was no lake view from the house.

It was our first time to the Verona Beach area. The area is excellent for our purposes. Decent beach, ok amusement park, but we knew what to expect via research. It is an older beach area and it shows, but has its own charm. Polite folks all around.
The house itself was perfect, well stocked for all your needs. Had to make no runs to a local store for that one item you might randomly need. Good condition all around. Entire area is walkable from the house. Beach Parking is 7 bucks a day if you decide to not walk the 3 blocks.
I would recommend the place for anyone in the area. The area is ok for kids under 10. Teens may get bored.

We enjoyed our stay at Verona Beach very much. The owners were excellent to work with. The location was convenient to the lake, a small amusement park and arcade, putt-putt, and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.
