Drive past a few times a month, very peaceful orra. My girlfriend once told me one time going by on a rainey night, dressed in an all white very flowey dress, was a woman walking facing oncoming traffic. Believe what you want, but this wasn't made up.

This cemetery is set in a beautiful environment filled with trees, whining roads and easy going hills. This cemetery is very old and has many historical people within its grounds- even the well know Uncle Sam!

This historic cemetery is quite large and is very interesting. Many Troy residents are buried here who are also known on a national level. The Earl Chapel has gorgeous stain glass windows.

This is a huge cemetery, or should I say, park. Miles of road through woods and meadows. Well kept. Old tombstones and monuments, famous and ? people, Great long views here and there. On the day we were there, relatively empty - sad! So, wander on foot here and there. And think of your mortality!

The road to Uncle Sam is well marked and easy to follow. Nothing incredible to see when there! (you do know who Uncle Sam was?)

And make sure you wander the streets of Troy. Incredible old architecture - and you will find notes about Uncle Sam here and there! Russell Sage College and Rensselaer Poly Tech are close by. one in the flat lands of city center, the other up the hill. All is easy to access on foot.

This beautiful, historic cemetery is the resting place of "Uncle" Sam Wilson, and contains many acres of gorgeous parkland complete with ponds and waterfalls. I grew up in the area and we took more than one school field trip here for both historical and natural studies. It's not your average cemetery, to say the least.
