While not in town it is worth the short drive to dwell in this lovely bed and Breakfast. Charlie and Ann are so gracious and I was sad that we could not stay longer. We travelled with friends who had been there before and it was like coming home for them and for us. The surroundings are comfortable, artistically appointed and relaxing. We were nourished by a delicious Breakfast.

Charlie and Ann are a warm and welcoming couple, assisted by a darling (and giant) dog named Boris. Their home is absolutely beautiful... from the interior and exterior construction, to the decorating, to cleanliness, and (of course) the magnificent view.
We enjoyed speaking with Charlie and Ann over breakfast about how they came to be innkeepers, their dedication to their neighbors (so much of the ingredients they use for cooking are locally sourced), and the activities of the many birds just outside.
The inn is about a ten minute drive from the town, and this was just fine with us! It was nice being out of the way, looking at the stars at night, and watching the sun quietly set over the lake while drinking a glass of wine.
There were many small touches we greatly appreciated-- complimentary bottled water in case we didn't like the taste of well water, a pair of binoculars we could use to look at birds or at boats on the lake, wine glasses, and a snack left out for us to take on our daytime excursion.
We hope to stay with Ann and Charlie again soon in their picturesque home on Skaneateles Lake.

We returned to Charlie and Anne's for a second visit recently and brought friends with us. Their home is magnificent with a beautiful view of the lake and their hospitality can't be beat. They opened a bottle of champagne in the morning to celebrate my husbands birthday! Charlie called the Sherwood Inn at the last minute for us and scored us a reservation on the porch for dinner- delicious! They gave us a map and directions to get home and even cut us some lavender because we admired it! Charlie and Anne are wonderful hosts- can't wait to return!!!!

Anne and Charlie are very welcoming and wonderful hosts. Their home is impeccable and gorgeous. All 3 rooms are on the lower level with an outside sitting area and all facing the beautiful lake view. Breakfasts were locally sourced food and delicious. Gracious, knowledgeable and helpful hosts. I cannot recommend this enough. About a 9 mile easy drive into the beautiful village of Skaneateles. We had a fantastic and relaxing stay.

Took my Mom and sister-in-law on a girls get-away for the Dickens Festival. Ann and Charlie were gracious and generous hosts in there lovely home overlooking the finger lakes. Boris the large and friendly mastiff was an added bonus for us dog lovers. We rented the fireplace suite and Charlie built us a fire, Ann gave us discount coupons to the local restaurants and they offered me an extra bed as I just had knee surgery and they had extra room. Whirlpool tub was a treat for my sore muscles! There are many interesting furnishings to look at and in some cases to sit on. Eclectic decor. Breakfast was delicious: yogurt, pumpkin bread, muesli, fruit, juice and tea/coffee for the 1st course, egg soufflé, tomato and sausage for the hot course...Yum! Would definitely go back again. A little off the beaten path from town, about 6-7 miles. Beds comfortable!
