Description: Ruby's is a brilliant gem in downtown Rye. It is chic, casual and comfortable. It charms guests with its varied menu, friendly and professional service, and its lively ambience. Ruby's stylish decor showcases an authentic zinc bar from Paris, beaded chandeliers and ruby red drapes. From its coffered ceiling and tasseled sconces down to its marble mosaic floor, no precious stone has been left unturned.

The raw oysters from Washington State, Massachusetts, Long Island and Delaware were absolute fantastic and so was the New England clam chowder. However the farm raised Monkfish from Connecticut is forgettable. Absolutely no taste. The interior reminds me of "old" Parisian restaurant or a bit "Londonish". Let's say European. I rated this as a 4. Five stars for the oysters and a 2 for the monkfish. Service is very fast. Three course dinner in 75 minutes! Could have called this review "&5 minutes later and $150 poorer".

This place is owned by the same people who own Rye Grill and Morgans. I think this is the best of the 3! The food is very good, the service is excellent. While this restaurant is known for their seafood there are plenty of non-seafood items.

I enjoyed my dinner here although one of my dining companions did not. Cute place, friendly staff, didn't charge for my colleague's dinner because she ate very little of it. At the same time, it really wasn't prepared the way she expected it to be at all. I'd try it again, but might stick with their regular menu items rather than the special.

Overall we were pretty happy with the place. Food and martinis were good, just be careful with what you order. My husband has celiacs, he ordered hard cider, got his drink, took a big swig and realized that they gave him a beer!!! He was fine and our waiter was apologetic.

We ordered raw bar and bunch of appetizers to split between four people, we all left full and the bill was about $300, not bad. We will suggest to others and will return

We end up here pretty often and this Saturday was no exception. The cool athmosphere, the international feeling, great bar, all ages and styles among the visitors, nice waiters and wonderful food. Do not miss the oysters or the crab cakes!
