We went to visit the beach at Rye, which was pleasant (although rather dirty), and saw Seaside Johnnie's restaurant at around dinner time, so we decided to give it a try.
The good things about it: it was right on the beach, giving some nice views, particularly at sunset. The wait was not very long, even for a beautiful, warm night. The service was friendly and efficient. The menu was varied, and there was even a nice sushi selection.
The not as good: the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. Sushi was pretty good. Lobster bisque could have been better (didn't taste like it was freshly made). Other food was fine. Nothing was bad, but it was somewhat average. I thought that the food was pricey for the quality of food.
Overall, I think that this restaurant is a nice casual place, with friendly service, with good views right on the beach, and is worth going to if you're in Rye. The food isn't bad and the menu is varied. A good experience, overall.

Have not had a scallop dinner as bad as this ever. Tasted like tin cans. Sent it back and got tasteless fish & chips. Bathroom smelled like a NYC telephone booth back in the day. Drinks over priced. Bud at the bar $7. Two beers two Piña

This place great. I loved the lobster. It was delicious and fresh.
Stay away from the steak. It was a bit overpriced.

The service was wonderful.

We would have gone outside but with 90 plus weather we opted for ac.

I'd definitely return for the shrimp and lobster. Yum!

Charming. The area where this is located is beautiful. We had dinner on a beautiful deck overlooking the Rye Beach. The dinner was delicious and we really enjoyed the little mermaids that came with our drinks. Service was great. After dinner we were able to walk over to the Rye Playland Boardwalk and watch free entertainment. (Sinatra music) The kids loved the playland park and locals could be seen coming to this great gathering spot for a nice evening out. Parking for the visitor is $5 and the dinners are a little pricey, but as usual you get what you pay for.
