This is property is well off the beaten track, and so is a bit if a hike down narrow pathways from the main road with heavy suitcases, however it is well worth it when you get there. The main house is very spacious and cool, despite the lack of air conditioning and was spotlessly clean. My teenage girls loved the hammocks which are in the shade under a grape vine and the small splash pool is more than adequate to cool off. Georgia, who manages the properties for the owner, was a great source of information about the best places to eat and visit. If you are offered the chance to go on a boat trip to swim into a bay of the volcano and the onto Therissia (another island), then do it! That was a fantastic day out, with wonderful food for lunch. I would also recommend booking your car hire and transfers from the airport through Eleni, as it was painless and good value. Thoroughly enjoyed this holiday, only wish we could have stayed for longer.
We rented these three villas for a week in August when we were getting married in Santorini. The winery villa itself is amazing, restored to its former glory with lots of attention to detail. It's even more pretty than the pictures and very spacious.
The sunset villa is also really nice with fabulous views of the sunset from the terrace. Inside it's very comfortable with a lovely old stone. The house of the singing birds is small but has everything you need and another terrace on the roof. The rooms are cooled with fans and not aircon. It's a short walk from Oia which was the perfect location. We had a simply wonderful time here and can't wait to return.
Eleni and Costa are wonderful hosts and spent loads of time with us explaining about the island and where to go. Costas also had great wine recommendations!!
We were 3 families and stayed a few days in July.
The place is exceptional because its at the same time very authentic and easy to live, not in the crowd of Fira or Oia but easy to access.
Lena and Costas know and love their Island, they were very helpful and gave a lot of ideas.
Special attention for "the mathematician" : Pantelis was introcduced to us by Costas to organise one day in the Caldera for the family (one boat just for us :)). This local teacher is full of surprises ... He brought us to incredible desert beaches, very nice local fisherman tavern, gave us local cooking receipts (not only he teaches mathematics but also greek cooking).
Among our best memories of Greece !
