We had stayed at the Hotel Plaisance before and we delighted to find that the hotel bedrooms had been upgraded to a good standard since our last visit. We had a lovely large room with a good sized bed and a very nice bathroom.

Dinner in the lovely light restaurant was delicious and we asked for and were recommended a local wine to drink with the food.

There is on-site parking. The hotel has a lift and free wif-fi.

We would definitely stay here again.

Appeared to be expensive on enquiry but everything was excellent and worth the money. The room was huge with a king sized bed plus a single. The bathroom had both a bath and a separate shower with a large basin etc. The room no.120,as was the rest of the hotel, spotless and very well decorated. The hotel also has a lift which is great when struggling with luggage.

The evening meal was really well presented and tasty. The dining room setting was calm but
elegant in decoration and furnishing.

Probably stay there again next year when en route from northern Spain to the ports.

Room Tip: If all rooms are as good as room 120 you should be happy. Good double glazing held back the noise from passing traffic.

We (two adults and one teenager) stayed at this hotel for two nights on our 3 week driver tour of France. This is a very traditional hotel, from the bedding to the décor, all traditional French. We booked a triple room and had a very large room with a large bathroom. There is limited parking in front of the hotel but there are two parking lots across the street that have plenty of spaces for hotel guests. The breakfast was fairly good, the dinner was superb, so make sure you eat dinner at the hotel at least one night and make the reservation in the morning. The WIFI was free but a bit slow. This looked to be a family run hotel, the younger family member spoke good English but the older members spoke French only, so just be patient and wait for the younger ones to ask questions in English if you don’t speak any French. The location of the hotel turned out to be perfect for the visit, it’s a short drive to all the sights and is the launching point of the canoes. If we ever visit the Dordogne region again, we’ll definitely stay here again.

We stopped on the way home and very grateful for some ample food to enjoy, the resto was just right, regional cuisine and well cooked and nicely presented and served by experienced staff. The room was adequate, but booking on the road we probably had to take what was available, we accept this. Despite adequate sound insulation we were really unable to sleep with windows open , only noisy Ac as an alternative, we opted for a hot night! The proprietress was amicable and welcoming with an air of being pressured by Le Logis requirements and their effect on performance. Overall, it's what is envisaged in tourist France in August at this price. A bientôt, peut être!

Room Tip: Book early if poss. and ask for renovated quiet room

This hotel is a dream for those who love traditional French hotels but who also like comfort and a generous breakfast. The hotel rambles on a terrace above the Dordogne, located handily for canoeing or sightseeing in the area. The reception was very friendly and our room was modern and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet in a delightful dining room was relaxed and truly excellent with fresh fruit salad, juice, yoghurts, cereals , pastries.good cooked ham and a fine cheese board which Madame replenished regularly and more besides. Unlimited coffee was from a machine-often the best option these days when the French hotels do not always make the best coffee. We hope to return and can recommend especially as the price was reasonable.
