We visited for the second time, last time in the main lodge house and this time at the lovely pool house with the wonderful pool.
Hal our gracious host made a delicious and filling breakfast both days we were there.
In addition we were entertained by his trumbone playing
Our stay was a real treat and our host Hal made our stay most memorable!

Great location near Storm King sculpture park, and close to other Hudson Valley destinations. We loved waking up and having our breakfast on the big porch with beautiful views. Really nice grounds, which we enjoyed walking around before going for a swim. The swimming pool was a really nice bonus. Hal was a very friendly host, with lots of good tips about places to visit and restaurants to try. Breakfast was abundant, though the frittata and bacon on our first morning were cold. Lots of yummy fruit, and little chocolates in our room, which was a nice touch.

The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is the loose bathtub valve which made bathing a little challenging. Otherwise, we loved the cottage -- plenty of room for two couples and their small children, with easy access to the surprisingly large yet scenic pool surrounded by a stone wall embedded with hens and chicks (the plant, not the poultry). We made good use of the full kitchen with washer and dryer (the dryer was perfect for swimsuits), and there were plenty of pool towels too. The cottage is an easy walk to the majestic main lodge, where scrumptious breakfasts were served, to be eaten on the spacious veranda with a mountain view. Most of all we enjoyed meeting Hal, a consummate host who is always full of fascinating conversation. The Storm King Lodge is a short drive from the fabulous Storm King Art Center and some excellent restaurants -- we especially enjoyed Captain Jake's on the Newburgh waterfront. We highly recommend the Storm King Lodge!

We have visited here twice now and have enjoyed each visit. Hal is a super host who goes out of his way to provide breakfasts the way the guests like them. Great outdoor pool for summer visits, and there are two rooms in a separate house near the pool. Quiet, great wifi, you can't go wrong at this place.

Lovely setting, good breakfast and congenial atmosphere. The lodge feels like you expect a lodge to feel with dark wood, high ceiling and comfy furniture. It has something extra in a very nice large porch off the back to use for relaxing and reading and eating breakfast on if there are too many guests to all gather around the dining room table. Would definitely return if ever visiting the Hudson Valley again...if I could get in!

Room Tip: The cottage below the main house is beside the pool & has two big rooms with a common area that would be good for families.
