We love coming here for the Blackened Tuna Tidbits, which are usually very good, and on this visit they were outstanding. We also had the Tomato, Mozzarella & Eggplant Napoleon, which is also a consistent winner on the menu. In addition, I got the special of fresh Swordfish, which was the best Swordfish I have ever had, bar none. Andy, our bartender/server, besides being a engaging, fun, good humored host, was an awesome barkeep, showed us pics of the fish from earlier in the day on the dock out back, and the fish was so fresh - outstanding.

Looking forward to the next visit!

We chose to give Salivar's a try this year after many trips to Montauk. It was so good, we went back a second time that same week! Both trips included the clam chowder, New England style for my wife and Montauken (Manhattan-style with shrimp and tuna added in) for me. I had the Fluke Parmesan the first night and it was very good. A better marinara would have made it truly exceptional, but I am super picky about marinara, so don't let that dissuade you. My wife had a Lobster Bake (see pic) that was incredible. The second night, she had the Fluke Picatta, which she loved, and I had the Fluke Fish and Chips, which was outstanding and featured four large hunks of very fresh fluke and homemade potato fries. Excellent. The highlight may have been the homemade Banana Cream Pie. It was huge and one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. You could truly taste the care and preparation put into that dish. The service was outstanding and the host staff manages the wait extremely well. If the rooftop bar is open, it is well worth spending time and admiring the views. I was in F&B for a long time and these folks get it right. We will definitely be back to Salivar's the next time we go to Montauk!

When we arrived at the CLAM & CHOWDER HOUSE we were told it would be about a 20 minute wait so we decided to go upstairs on the roof and have a drink, it’s the first time I have been on the roof and it was really a good spot to have our drinks there. The roof deck has very comfortable seating, a fire pit, and live music, all accompanying a terrific view.
After about 20 minutes our table was ready and as usual we sat at a table with a view of the boats.
I started with the clam chowder, for my entrée I had the swordfish. Both excellent choices. The fish was cooked to perfection juicy and delicious.
Our server turned out to be the niece of the owner, we found out that several family members work there.
She was so attentive, and pleasant we asked to speak to the owner who came over and gave us a brief history of the place. We have course told him how delightful his niece was, and how much more pleasant our dinner was because of her.
Very reasonable prices as their portions are quite large and the fish is always fresh caught.
Parking in their lot, or on the street.
I’ll be back!

Sushi was excellent...fresh! Raw bar was fairly priced. Chilled potato, cucumber and dill soup was wonderful as was the watermelon, feta and spinach salad. Mussels and clam chowder are debatable. 2 men and 1 woman dined together. The boys say the mussels were great and would give Salivars a 4/5 rating. I thought the mussels and chowder were okay. Because there wasn’t a good to great on all food items, especially on the classics, this chowder house gets a 3/5.

Sky deck / patio was really beautiful just after Sunset. Very busy place on a Friday night in July so the 50 minute starting at 8:30 pm wait wasn’t a surprise however there is plenty to do while you wait. Live music on the upper deck, outdoor pool table and ping pong walking around along the dock (not straying too far because we had the reservation pager). Very easy to get a drink from 3 different bar areas. Worth it to meet friends and hang out on the dock patio or deck patio.

We LOVED this place! From the garlic bread (crazy good!) and sushi as appetizers to swordfish (prepared perfectly!), big eye tuna (again, perfect!) and the "flute parm" (had no idea what "flute" was - it is Delicious!), we really enjoyed every bite! The fact that a Ben & Jerry's ice cream parlor is next door didn't hurt either!!! The service was great, lots of great suggestions from the server.

Glad you enjoyed your dining experience with us, Jenny! What you most likely had was our "fluke" parm. Hope to see you again soon!
