Description: The Backyard Restaurant is inspired by a healthy approach to diet and lifestyle – but not obsessive in its goal. We are all about good, wholesome, fresh, natural ingredients and sources (organic meats and vegetables from the local farmer’s markets, fresh catch from the local fishermen). But we can make a pretty nifty drink too. This season, new resident Executive Chef, Larry Kolar, will be applying a unique, modern interpretation to market-driven, market fresh cusine.

Never, ever, go to this place. After attending a yoga class at the hotel, we thought it would be fun to give the restaurant a try. We soon found out why it was the only restaurant in town still offering tables for large parties on short notice. The menu looked reasonable enough, but when the putrid burrata obviously past its expiry date arrived, reality set in. The $38 pasta was tasteless except for the plastic cheese garnish, and the fish was cold and uncooked in the middle. Even having the cooked parts lead to some late night vomiting. Don't bother trying to speak to a manager either; there isn't anyone in charge as this is basically a motel without any professional oversight. Looking around the half filled restaurant on the way out, it was apparent many other diners were having similar issues with their food. Would recommend the 7-11 down the street over this.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for a date night while on vacation. The vibe was great, not rushed, very chill atmosphere, and the food was AMAZING! Our waitress Azaria was so sweet, and made our night absolutely perfect. Thanks Backyard! We would highly recommend.

Judging on the roaches I saw in the adjoined hotel - I would stay away form this place. The GM here is one of the rudest people I have even had contact with.

This place is great for dining and entertainment. Get a table outside if the weather is nice. The food is great and it's a fun atmosphere. Keep up the good work! :)

We were staying in a local self catering accommodation and fancied some proper breakfast. We found decent reviews of this location and the garden setting looked different and nice. In summary, we found this nice enough, but nothing overly special - possibly they aren't really catering to give a special breakfast experience.

You go through the main lobby and out the back. We struggled initially to find anybody in attendance to ask if we could have breakfast, or where to sit. Eventually we were about to sit outside when somebody appeared. They advised it was help yourself buffet and let them know if you wanted anything cooked. So it was quite free and easy. I asked if there were bagels, they said give them a minute and they'd be over. A few minutes later they appeared with an untoasted bagel and some preserve.

So the food here was nice, no problem with it and the setting was pleasant. All that was really missing was that feeling that you are being looked after and entertained to a special breakfast.
