Description: La Coquille strives to offer a comfortable atmosphere where people can come to enjoy each other, as well as the pleasure of foods grown locally and prepared with exacting care. Nothing frozen, no cellophane, no mass-market products. Today, the only place I can think of that even remotely works like my grandfather's kitchen, is our kitchen at La Coquille. We are working with locally-grown produce and meats, and using recipes that are classics, but with a twist, or a new interpretation to keep things interesting.

Four of us ate here on a Friday night to celebrate my wife's Birthday. We started with cocktails, two of us ordered the Organic Peach Martini which was both tasty and potent.
Appetizers were the salad special, tuna tartare, and onion soup. All were very good to excellent although I thought the onion soup could have used a little more sherry/marsala wine.
Entrees ordered were whole branzino, half duck a la orange and chateaubriand for 2. All were very good. Two notes, when asked if we could have bearnaise sauce for the steak, the waiter flatly said No, no explanation or apology given. Secondly, there are dishes that are footnoted with either, flambe style or carved tableside, unless you're seated at the back of the restaurant(we weren't), you aren't close to where they flambe or carve.
Service is good but a bit slow.
Make sure to order a souffle with dinner, they are excellent.
Our party of four would definitely return here, even with the few shortcomings we experienced.

La Coquille is one of my favorite restaurants. The whole menu
Is fabulous. This restaurant has been around for many many years and is one of the few that is still great. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny. During the week they have daily specials that are on a price fixed menu. There are quite a few choices for your dining pleasure. As most French restaurants are noted for their Cunard (duckling) this restaurant is no exception. They also feature escargot another French favorite. No matter what you eat in this restaurant you will not be disappointed. It's a fabulous dining experience that you will love. Be sure not to miss this one.

I have had dinners at La Coquille for many years. It never fails to impress. The wait staff and chef never change, becuase management is good to them. Giovanni, Joseph and Thomas are wonderful. The roast duck is the best I have eaten worldwide and friends who have taken that recommendation rave about it. Beautifully prepared seafood and meats, crisp white linens, great drinks and tuxedoed waiters. Why go to NYC when La Coquille is un your home town?

Excellent French food, beautiful decor and impeccable service. This is our favorite local French restaurant and our choice for every Chrismas Eve with our family. We all have our favorites but always like to try new things. Everything is always cooked perfectly and delicious.

First time I dined at La Coquille was 37 years ago. Impressive: Great food, excellent service; abundantly charming. Over the years, the restaurant has maintained its high standards and, to this day, for the most part, is as good as it ever was. My go-to entree selection is the duck a l'orange; it never disappoints! The dining room can get crowded but never seems as noisy as many other restaurants can become. Be prepared to shell out some big bucks for your dinner but know that you won't resent the prices charged when you walk out the door, fully satisfied, at the end of your meal.
