This is our second stay at the Crowne Plaza and we were very pleased. Both last year and this, we arrived just before Christmas and stayed 4 nights. We reserved a suite, last year for 4 adult family members and this year for 5. The kitchen and Family Room area served perfectly for breakfast and Apres Ski. We ate all of our dinners out but were able to stock the kitchen with lots of breakfast, lunch and snack foods. And drinks. The shuttle arrives every hour to Whiteface Mountain. The hotel is very clean. Not sure how the dining room is; we didn't dine there. The staff is very accommodating. Although, many of them don't speak English which is sometimes inconvenient. It was expensive, but for a suite during peak season, that's par for the course. The hotel allows dogs, which is nice, unless you don't like dogs. We like seeing them around the hotel and lounging by the fire. There is no gift shop in the hotel for sundries or other things that you may need.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your recent stay in Lake Placid went. It is wonderful to read this was not your first stay with us. We are pleased you enjoyed this visit just as much as your last with us! The suite sounds perfect for your family size and also very convenient. I am sure our staff will be thrilled to read of your great feedback and kind words. We cannot wait to welcome you back for another visit next year, or sooner! Thank you.

Nice looking hotel on the outside. I stayed for a few days of skiing and thought I would try staying in town. Hotel has a beautiful view of the town and lake however my room was a let down. It was outdated with no view. Of course for a view it's more $. Old school wall heater blasts cold air then finely changes to warm and is noisy. Toilet ran and would not flush. Kids out of control with noise all night both nights. Poor service in the lobby when trying to get drinks. Waiter told me to go to the bar when he finely showed up. Nice desk staff but they are simply overrun. I would definitely recommend Smoke Signals for food in town. Outstanding.

Thank you for providing our hotel with some feedback about your recent trip. We are always striving to improve our level and service and appreciate you taking the time to let us know how your stay went. It is great you enjoyed the look of our hotel and was able to ski during the visit. While our lake view rooms are more expensive, we are always willing to negotiate the price should some still be open during your check in. I have notified our maintenance team of your comments about a noisy heater and we will work to have it addressed immediately. Our food and beverage manager has also been made aware of your feedback about the lacking service in our restaurant. Thank you for bringing these points to attention, we hope to have the opportunity to show you our improvements in the future.

Nicely decorated hotel with beautiful view outside; however my room was located at the beginning of the first floor hallway and also located off of the pool. Needless to say, the noise factor was ridiculous and this was non-stop all day long until the pool closed at 9:30pm. When I complained at check-out the advise I received was to call ahead next time I stay to request a different location. I understand that hotels need to have these rooms, however, I feel they should be offered at a hugely discounted rate. Some people may not mind dealing with all the noise if you get a discount on the room, but when you're looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend and you have to turn your tv on just to drown out a little bit of all the other noises....not very relaxing. Disappointed :(

Room Tip: Request to not be on the first floor and not near the pool

Thank you for taking some time to provide our hotel with some feedback about your recent visit. It is pleasing to read you enjoyed our hotels decorations and found the view outside to beautiful. We do understand our pool rooms can not be appealing to someone now wishing to use our large indoor pool during their stay. Our front desk staff would have been able to accommodate you to another room if it was brought to their attention. They strive on excellent problems solving skills and would have been able to move you to something else more suiting. Thank you again for the comments and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.

Great Hotel, close to center of Lake Placid. Stayed there for one week, rooms were clean and taken care well the entire week. Restaurant and food, however rather average, particularly breakfast. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Parking close to room always with free space.

A very nice place as usual, the view on mirror lake is amazing , one piece of advice do t go there while most of the hotel is occupied by kids sports team, kids in the hallways , no place to sit in the lobby.
