We sailed on the Lake George dinner cruise last week on the Lac du Saint Sacrement. Purchase of tickets was easy, with several reservationists available. We boarded about 45 minuts prior to departure and were surprised to learn that the dinner buffet was already going. We mistakenly thought dinner would start after departure. Our table was a table for two, with a superb view, linen tablecloth and nice silverware, in the rear of the second deck. A waiter took our drink orders and after about ten minutes he arrived with our drinks, then we went down the stairs to the buffet. The salad bar was very good, and I enjoyed the potato salad, but the rest of the buffet was mediocre. The chicken was OK, and I wasn't interested in the fish. The roast beef was tasty but tough. All in all we had enough to eat, but nothing memorable. The two hour cruise was great. The boat goes all the way to The Sagamore, and we had a good view of it. Return to the dock was nice and we arrived on time. This was a fun trip that everyone should try. The one area that needs improvement is the bar service. We saw only one bartender on duty, who has to serve guests walking up to the cocktail bar as well as all of the wait staff. Very slow, and it must cost them business.
