We stayed one night at Mount Merino and loved every minute of it. The house has a long winding drive that is set back from the road making it private and quiet. The large front lawn has a big hammock and comfortable chairs for lounging and enjoying the beautiful Hudson Valley views and sunsets.

The house is very clean and correct to the Victorian period, including the furniture. We stayed in Isabel’s Suite which has a large parlor that’s separate from the bedroom and allowed me to stay up late reading, while my wife went to bed undisturbed. The bath was also large, clean and had a Jacuzzi tub.

Rita was a gracious host and we enjoyed the fresh country breakfast and the woodsy view from the dining room. We enjoyed out stay so much that we’re planning our next getaway to Mount Merino.

We spent one night at Mount Merino Manor during a driving tour through the Hudson River valley. We arrived during a driving rain storm during which we enjoyed sitting on the lovely veranda overlooking to lovely grounds. The hotel, more a B&B, is located a little bit outside the town of Hudson. The location is extremely peaceful and relaxing. Our room on the first floor was a large suite. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also large, modern and clean. Because of a busy schedule, we left early and did not stay for breakfast, but it smelled good as we were leaving. The nearby town of Hudson has some interesting restaurants and is becoming known for its antiques shops. We spent a little time there but thought it over-rated. Mount Merino Manor, however, is not and we would happily stay there again if we venture to the upper Hudson Valley in the future.

What makes one B&B stand out from the others? It's the feeling that you are "home." Our hosts, Patrick and Rita were so welcoming and gracious. From the moment we stepped into the Mount Merino Manor we felt a sense of tranquility. They were attentive to our needs and did everything to make us comfortable - even recommending and making dinner reservations for us. The inn is beautifully decorated and meticulously clean. The bed was comfortable and each room had its own climate control - a great feature! We couldn't have been happier and plan to return again soon.

Room Tip: Any room at this inn is a winner but the third floor rooms have the best views of the mountainside.

Very convenient to Olana, Thomas Cole's home, the town Hudson, and other river towns. Wendy was very helpful arranging dinner and Olana tour reservations. We enjoyed relaxing on the huge wide porch in the mornings and evenings. Breakfast served 9:00-10:00, a bit late for us, but not for those who prefer to sleep in, in what proved to be a very quiet inn, even though full.

Lovely quiet setting, and a great porch to relax and enjoy the scenery. We were greeted by Wendy. Her breakfast preparation was tasty and a visual delight. The host welcome guest to a clean, friendly, well run B&B with modern conveniences. Well located for visiting Olana,Hudson restaurants, and other sites of interest.

Room Tip: Noise did not seem to be an issue on any of the floors at the time we were visiting.Third floor is a...
