The Mont Passot natural reserve is a nice place to discover in the middle of Nosy Be. If you're interested by animals, you can easily find Chameleons (Furcifer pardalis) but the small ones (Brookesia) are harder to find. Concerning the famous Nile crocodiles supposed to stay in each lake of the reserve, good luck to see one.. apparently, locals kill them to make some medics to sell to rich people (even if they are protected by law) and too much noise around the lake with the people fishing there all the time... They is a nice view point at the summit (after a 5 minute walk) if you are more lucky than me (clouds limit my view to 10 m...). There are also a handful of souvenir shops. If you want to visit the reserve you have to pay the entrance (about one euro) and it is recommended to have a guide (about 5 euros per person) but I recommend you the guide, especially Guy, they know a lot of things about animals and plants.
