That's how you are greeted if you've been there more than once. Owners Rocky and Barbie Fiato treat their guests as extended family. Having visited there in my travels many times, the Waterfront is an oasis - a welcome respite from the proliferation of impersonal fast food and chain restaurants proliferating our highways. Directly across from the NYS Thruway toll booth (Exit 30) in Herkimer, the Waterfront offers a warm atmosphere, good food and drinks and great company. Service can be spotty, but Rocky's charm and friendliness usually makes up for the occasional service faux pas in spades!

Just happened upon this jewel in the midst of the Herkimer Diamond Mines. Rocky and Barbie are wonderful hosts and have a real flare. The food was awesome, wonderful wines, a great place no matter what type of meal you are looking for. A wide-varity of fresh, high-quality food. A great spot right off the Thurway (I90), can't be beat! Stop, you will not be sorry. Serve lunch until 3:30, great for weiry travelers.

Located right on the Erie canal with big windows to enjoy the view. I am a single woman dining alone and felt very comfortable in this setting. It was a cold May night and they had a wood stove/fire place going which took the chill from these old bones. The restaurant is warm and inviting. Food was very good. I had the Veal Parm dinner and could not finish the pasta. Soup or salad came with the dinner and the chef sent out a little chesse plate. Full bar but I went with a local Root Bear (Saranac) and loved it. Waitress was friendly and attentive without be overbearing. I liked that she verbally gave all the prices to the nightly specials. Located next to a great shopping place Gems Along the Mohawk. This is a mini outlet store that has their vendors in their own differnt sections. I did quite a bit of Chirismas shopping. The women in the store were helpful and friendly. Mix of goods from Gloves and slippers to pasta and Junket (rember that). Has a nice jewelry selection of Herkemer Diamonds you can even buy a jewelry box to put them in, I did. Between the Store and Resturant is a nice clean bathroom . You can get a boat ride here too which was not open when I was there (too early in the season).
I would almost drive the 31/2 hours to shop and eat here again.
Highly recommened
