“Great Stay, Great Grounds, Amazing Food”
Reviewed 7 October 2011

just returned from a mid week October stay and all I can say is WOW !! Although the rooms are a tad tired and a bit overpricey, the incredible food more than makes up for it. Met the chef ( Mike) and job he and his staff do is top notch. So much to do in the area and if you like vino, you're gonna love this place.

Room Tip: try the jacuzzi room AIA on the ground floor with it's on entrance

First Impression: Amazing

Dinner: Terrible. It was an extremely awkward and stuffy atmosphere. Food took forever. The selection was medicore at best. Price was ridiculous! The breakfast/dinner package was a waste. If I had realized, we would have had dinner at a local winery.

Room: Quaint-minus the fold down bed. The mattress was very uncomfortable. The bathroom and kitchen well stocked. They provided a lovey bottle of complementary wine. No view from the room :( however the view from the property was breathtaking.

Overall very clean. Over priced. Overrated.

Piece if advise: check your bill thoroughly before you pay. They charged us $400 over. They took it off but after coming back in and arguing the total.

This hotel is a delight!
The decor and buildings are a trip back in time. And what a great location! The service we found impeccable. There was a complementary bottle of local wine in the fridge.

Everyone was helpful. The band on the terrace during dinner was lovely to dance to. The food was excellent. As for the old world charm - the proprieter took my arm and led me to my table when went for dinner!
Service at breakfast lets it down but then it is complementary. Some staff training would soon put that right.
If you want modern and lacking personality go elsewhere. This place is not shabby as stated elsewhere. It has character and period furniture. Try the honemoon suite. It is large with a full size kitchen and an extraordinary red mirrored jacuzzi, though the bedroom - with four poster - is small.

We are just sorry we could only stay one night and didn't have the chance to use the pool and play croquet but they did take us on a boat trip. A lovely experience.

We didn't stay at the Inn, Instead we had August reservations for an evening dinner on the terrace. While waiting for our reservation,we took a walk in the beautiful architecture of the gardens and sat above the lake with a glass of wine watching the boats and birds. Once seated, a great Jazz band with Johnny Russo entertained us while we wined and dined under a clear moonlit night. The service was good, the food was very good and the atmosphere and entertainment were excellent.

Very elegant, but understated villa right on Seneca Lake in Geneva, NY. "Room" was really like a small apartment, with separate living room and kitchen. Very comfortably furnished. Restauant is a bit pricey, but the food was fantastic. It is also small so be sure to make reservations to eat there well in advance. Wonderful pianist played throughout dinner...very nice atmosphere. Service was excellent all around..all staff very eager to please. Slight drawback is lack of elevators...we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to top level, but not a problem for us. Definitely recommend and will stay there again.
