What a great hotel! Here are the pros:
Location: Quiet location to the left of a shopping area. A Wal-Mart is close by, which is great to get groceries and other needed items. There's also a Sam's Club. Likewise, there is a Ruby Tuesday's close by and a Cracker Barrel across the road from the shopping center.
Building: This hotel looks spanking new. It is contemporary with a lovely dining area and bar tucked away in the corner. The dining area has a long table with bar stools, as well as many tables with comfortable, stylish chairs. I didn't use the business center, but it looked as if there were computers available off the lobby. Great fitness center and nice, clean pool. Elevators are quiet and fast.
Rooms: Even better news here. The rooms are totally designed for beauty and function. For example, one of my pet peeves is that many hotel rooms have their air conditioning/heat blowing across one side of the bed. This room configuration is such that you enter with the kitchen to the right and then enter the sitting area. The air conditions this area, which then spreads throughout the room. In addition, the TV turns in such a manner that it's equally visible in the bed nook to the left and in the living area on the other side. A desk is arranged to the right of the TV and across from the comfortable sofa. The pictures in the room are interesting and colorful. On each side of the bed are lights, but there is also a cool reading light that can be moved into a variety of positions. I always read after my husband goes to sleep, so I really appreciated that.
Kitchen: The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses, and utensils. There are probably pots and pans, but I didn't notice since I didn't cook. There is a microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator, all new and clean. There is a Keurig coffee maker and 6+ coffee containers. They have salt and pepper, some sugar packets, dishwasher detergent, Palmolive soap, and POPCORN. I loved the popcorn. There was also a form you could fill out to order groceries in case you didn't have time to shop for your own. That was a nice feature if you need it.
Bathroom: The shower was fantastic. It was large and had a Speakman shower head. The sink had a Meredien faucet. The toiletries were by Paul Mitchell. All of these were #1! My husband put his toiletry items by the sink and on the shelves on the side of the wall. I placed mine on a counter to the left before you enter the bathroom. There are drawers there to store items as well.
Bedding: SOFT comes to mind immediately. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the pillows were fantastic. I brought mine along just in case , but I didn't even have to take it out of the car.
Breakfast: YUMMY! There was the usual cereal, toast, and waffles. BUT there were things there I have not seen at a hotel "free" breakfast, to include scrambled egg whites and toppings for oat meal such as walnuts and shredded coconut. There were cartons of yogurt, but also a large bowl of yogurt with fresh fruit available to add to it. The regular scrambled eggs tasted really fresh, and there was always a meat to complement it. One day there was bacon; another choice was sausage. I'm not a breakfast person, but I found myself looking forward to it here. The staff members kept everything well stocked, and they were friendly and helpful. I remember seeing one member working especially hard. I believe her name was Andrea.
Surprises: When we arrived, the hotel set out what we ultimately used as our dinner. They had hamburgers with all the fixings, as well as a delicious salad. There were also free soft drinks. It was well presented on that long table I mentioned earlier. I believe they have this available on Mondays or Tuesdays. Every now and then a food truck featuring fresh, local vegetables as part of their meals parks in the portico in front of the hotel and offers items for sale. It makes it easy for everyone to get a fast, delicious dinner. Lollipops instead of cookies! You are welcomed with a lollipop! There was also a putting green on the grounds, a plus for golfers.
Staff: Really great staff. They are always professionally dressed and willing to go out of their way to be of help. Matt at the front desk was particularly helpful, as was a manager whose name I have forgotten. Kathy? I was exiting the elevator and was nicely greeted by Rob, a young man who was cleaning in that area.
Cons: There weren't any!!!
