Kurumba is best at services, food and entertaiment. We were a group of 6 families and had the best holiday here. Food is great, I recommend you too book the restaurants and try different types of cuisine, for us the Japanese restaurant is on top.
The water is of course great, as Maldives is.

Just make sure you book a room with a view towards islands, not the city. Anyhow the great services, food and personnel compensate the view.

I recommend the all inclusive experience if you want to really enjoy everything.

Can't recommend Kurumba highly enough. We needed a break from the realities of COVID life and we were not disappointed. So many reasons why this was the best family holiday we've had:

RESORT: Just beautiful. Well kept beaches, landscaping and everything you would want from a tropical Indian Ocean island. A nice balance of smart, 5* resort but one where you didn't feel self conscious walking around in your swimming gear and flip flops!

ROOM: We had a beach front bungalow - walk out and onto your own beach with two reserved sun loungers, excellently kept, the outdoor bathroom was beautiful and so spacious. Clean, quiet and plenty of space for a family of 4.

FOOD & DRINK: We did the dine all around package so could eat in any of the restaurants - all were fabulous, from the bar food to the a la carte restaurant and the great fun of the Japanese restaurant. Wines were really good - so often the wines on the all inclusive deals are pretty rubbish whereas here you had a choice of some OK to decent wines rather than the usual headache stuff. Hassan the F&B Manager - what a nice bloke, who checked in with us every day, arranged special food for my kids, and was just so helpful. Say hi if you meet him! Also the lovely Sasha at the beach bar, equally friendly and kept us well supplied with cold drinks!

ACTIVITIES: Boat trips were great, and the snorkelling was amazing - either by yourself around the island or on supervised trips with the really friendly and nice guys from the watersports and activities team. Saw sharks, dolphins, turtles, sting rays and so many fish. A night snorkel trip was brilliant. Kayaking was fun and the kids enjoyed the splash pad, pool table and table tennis in the kids centre.

STAFF: What a breath of fresh air - courteous, helpful, flexible, accommodating, professional, knew their stuff when it came to what they were serving. With a 4 and 6 year old meal times can be challenging occasionally but the staff were brilliant at helping out and using their initiative to solve any problems.

COVID: Felt very comfortable with all the COVID precautions and preparations, they were great from communicating what we needed to de before we arrived to making sure we were tested and forms filled out for our return journey. And felt very safe just being around the resort.

TRAVEL: Great. Helpful staff from meet and greet at the airport as you clear customs to dropping us back at check in and helping all the way with the bags. 7 minute boat ride from the airport.

Look, it is close to the airport so you do hear planes but it certainly did not spoil our holiday. We knew it would be which we accepted. A trade off we were happy to make for a 7 minute boat ride after an overnight trip with two kids under 7! Also we didn't have to wait 6 hours for a transfer, they picked us up at 7am and dropped us back at 9pm.

PLASTIC: This is absolutely not the resort's fault and not a complaint, more an observation - it was a shame to see plastic floating about the ocean. Not a lot, and not a reason to not go here, but wound urge you if you do go to the Indian Ocean or anywhere for that matter to pick up and dispose of responsibly any plastic you see floating around within reach.

Room tip: Sea side (as opposed to Male side rooms are from about room 155 round to about 225. We had 210 which was perfect.

We had an Excellent stay at Kurumba Maldives, which is only 10 minutes away, with speedboat, from Male airport and it's the oldest resort (has 50 years) in Maldives. This resort is a real paradise, Perfect for Families and Couples as well, with excellent restaurants. We tried the Buffet Dinners at Vihamanaa one of my best Buffet Dinners ever), The Thila, which offers Delicious Grill Dishes with a unique View, The King Thai, with Tasty Thai Dishes, and the Café with Pizzas, Salads, Burgers and Maldivian specialities. Kurumba offers great activities too, we tried the Sunset Dolphin Cruise, which was so Magical. The Staff are super Kind and if you stay at Kurumba, you will come back for sure, because you will have a Lifetime experience. The Location is Amazing, Clean and the Beach is really safe and perfect.
This was our first trip to Maldives and Kurumba will be next year in our list for sure, 100% recommend.

Room tip: Deluxe Pool Villa is really amazing.

I had a great travel in Maldives and staying in Kurumba is the best decision for my solo trip. Staff are well experienced and has outstanding customer service. The rooms are modern and well maintained. You can do a lot of watersports, eat in different restaurants with different cuisine. My favorite is the Japanese resto (hamakaze) with live cooking show. Food was amazingly prepared by the well experienced chef. The resort is well preserve and clean. They have 24/7 gym that you can use. You can have your morning or evening run within the island. Watch and listen a live band in the evening or watch the traditional maldivian show. The best for me is capturing great sunsets as my villa is situated in the sunset side. I will definitely come back to this place. My experience is beyond words. Every day is worthwhile.

A big shout out to Kurumba staff for awesome hospitality . I am a vegetarian Indian and Chef Viji and Chef Nanda need to be specialy mentioned for making amazing vegetarian dishes. The chef's were so nice that they would instantly make vegetarian dishes for us when the buffet had less veg options. The resort was clean and clear with crystal clear water at beaches. Awesome and memorable trip.
