This historic barn conversion goes back to just short of being 200 year's old, but has been tastefully converted retaining lots of original features, combining all modern home comforts, it is situated at the top of the drive,1 minute to the car all on level surface. Outside the cottage there is a picnic table also there is a BBQ, for those hot sunny day's{you remember] .The cottage is ideally situated for all the surround activities, or you can have a stroll to the local pub or down to the river, the cottage's are family owned and run and have been for the last 30 year's or just chill at the farm where there is a two acre play safe field with goal's and picnic bench's, there is Duck's and Chicken's to feed.

Was greeted by the host upon arrival and was made to feel extremely welcome and shown around the cottage, how everything worked etc, was also advised if we needed anything they were literally over the courtyard, just had to ring the doorbell. The cottage itself was lovely, comfortable, warm and had everything we needed, very clean and tidy and plenty of parking. The cottage is surrounded by absolutely beautiful countryside, fantastic if you are planning some walks, especially if you are taking dogs (which were also welcomed by the great hosts). There are a few pubs which are a short drive away and you can get takeaway delivered to the door.
Graham and Amanda are brilliant hosts, so friendly and on hand if you need anything, I would definitely stay here again and give them and the cottage top marks

Beautiful, peaceful and comfy cottage in stunning location
The location is the best we have experienced in some time. Very relaxing holiday cottage further helped by friendly and helpful hosts. We are already looking to book our next holiday at the cottage as we had the best sleep in ages. The cottage also made a great base to go walking as well as cycling -exploring the lakes/mountains nearby.
I did not mark down the rating as we knew from previous reviews that there was no shower- which is a shame but the remaining was so good that will leave this to the discretion of prospective travelers to decide if can be compromised.

best place for a rural vacations with the commodities of the city
I was hoping for a good and relaxing time off work... and i got so mutch more that i could hope for. Graham and his family were very nice and helpful across my time there. The cottage was big enough for me and my friends easily. And i did manage to see the famous Elliot, the small horse .

Another brilliant holiday
Just returned from another amazing break at the Cottages. Graham, Joyce & Amanda are such lovely people. My four boys loved seeing Elliot the pony again. The cottage is well equipped, and lovely and clean. We will definitely be booking again next year.

Nice cottage
Nice cottage for a nice half term break. The owner was friendly. Lots of land and nice patio area. Nice views. The kids loved Eliott the pony.

Fantastic stay at Swallow cottage
We have just returned from a 3 night stay at swallow cottage, 2 mums and 4 children between us aged 5-12years, and have all had a lovely stay. Started with a warm welcome from Graham who was happy to help and accommodate all our needs. A clean and comfy cottage in a peaceful area with stunning views. There is only a bath, no shower but we all managed with a big jug so happy days. Was lovely to meet Elliot the shetland pony and get up close to cows. The wife internet was iffy but to be honest all of us managed to get on it and use it once we knew best placed to go in the cottage, yo be fair the walls are thick so what do people expect. We would definitely reccomend the place and would come back happily. Sorry Graham we left our used bbq out and forget to put it in the bin, too busy having fun.

Short breakfor Alton Towers
Simply put, the owners were wonderful! Hospitable, and polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our family of 5 had enough space and the kitchen was well equipped.We really enjoyed our time in this cosy cottage and will definitely be back.

Amazing place, lovely hosts
Fantastic location and group of cottages, perfect for a group get together. Graham the host couldnt do enough and is a genuinely lovely guy.

Super family experience
Booked the cottage for two weeks. It was perfect for our family of three boys. They loved the countryside and there was plenty of space for them to run around. Plus the owners were fabulous with them and so patient. Also the fact that we could take the dog was such a relief. Thanks for a great trip.

Our perfect stay
Loved loved loved our stay here..
Beautifully clean and well equipped, nothing was to much trouble and we would stop here again..
Oh and Elliot the pony was an added bonus..
