Review of Pepettini

Pepettini
Description: Pepettini is an authentic Italian restaurant located in a converted early 1900's bank, a stone's throw from the Hudson River. Our updated interior honors the past by keeping the original vault and renovating in a style to highlight the natural beauty and history of the building. Keeping true to our central/southern Italian heritage we specialize in fresh seafood and more traditional dishes not typically found in American-Italian restaurants. We make it a point to ask the customer, "What would you like?"... something not asked at enough restaurants if you ask us. We invite you to come in and join our family for a meal that transports you to Italy, no plane ticket needed!

Excellent meal and outstanding appetizers. Would highly recommend the Calamari and Shrimp appetizers. Pastas were also very good. The owner and staff were very helpful in helping us choose our meals. Would definitely go back and highly recommend to others.

We read reviews for this place, which were mixed. But we had an excellent and authentic Italian meal here. Dinner included a complimentary antipasto with crusty bread, pickled veggies, prosciuto and olives. My husband loved his caesar and I loved my artichoke appy. We both choose pasta dishes. He had the lobster ravioli and I had special with mushrooms, peas and pancetta - it was excellent. Note - ask questions as the spelling and wording on the specials menu is not the best. :) The entrees were generous and we each took home leftovers.

Atmosphere was very quaint and cozy, some may say too tight. My husband and I started with an apple martini and glass of cabernet, both great. We ordered calamari and shrimp with Muenster cheese and prosciutto. Shrimp was good as was calamari, but sauce was lacking seasoning. For dinner we had chicken parmigiano and chicken and penne with a white wine sauce. Both chicken were served bone in; while the taste was good prefer no bones. Tomato sauce again bland, lacking flavor; white wine sauce great! For dessert we had cheesecake and a canoli both which were awesome. As far as the wait staff, we felt as if we had been forgotten. We will not be going back.
