Spouse and I slipped out last evening without the kids and treated ourselves to a delightfully tasty meal at an excellent price. Spouse had pork and I had the halibut special served with salads and warm bread. Yum! Spouse had the coconut cream pie for dessert. All that and a mid-priced bottle of wine came to just over $70. The food was perfectly cooked, the server attentive, and the price affordable. Broadalbin is a cute village making it a nice evening drive. We will definitely go back.

We stopped by here for dinner one night and thought everything was great. The staff, drinks, and of course food. We will be back!

A great evening having dinner with friends was made even better by the culinary talents of a great entree prepared by the chef and kitchen staff at Wine and Roses! Was greeted warmly by the owner upon arrival, "The Original Ms. Rose", who is always accommodating and cheerful. Known by Shelly, she has a long history of restaurant and hospitality experience which makes this venue a popular eating spot.
Seating was not much of a wait, our server Amy took our drink order and brought menus to our table. Drinks were made perfectly and Amy gave us some time before discussing specials for the evening.
We started with an appetizer of crab cakes, which were prepared just right. The two of us ordered the "red snapper", an entree Amy endorsed as an excellent choice, served on a bed of vegetable slaw and mashed potatoes. We added Caesar salad, which was excellent. The dressing was not very heavy, just enough to add great flavor to the romaine salad greens.
Entrees came out in a timely manner, and at first look a very large portion of red snapper filled the plate, with the vegetable slaw garnish over it. The food came out at the right temperature and was excellent. Have always been a fan of red snapper but nothing has compared to this entree. Kudos to the chef, making sure the fish was cooked perfectly, with great care and the dish looking perfect.
No room for homemade desserts- maybe. Next time!
The restaurant was busy and bar area was very full as well. May be wise to call ahead for a reservation!
Very rare do I rate five stars, but this meal was most deserving! Many thanks for a great evening made even better by the fine meal and excellent service by Amy.

Situated in a comfortable and nicely decorated older building, everything about this restaurant is very nice. The staff is friendly and responsive, the decor warm and inviting, and food well-prepared. Having said this, nothing really "stands out". Our appetizer of steamed clams was fresh and tasty as was my chicken pasta dish. The wine list was acceptable but not extensive, and the staff's knowledge of wine was quite limited. Overall, one of the best dining options in the area, but would not stand out in a larger urban environment.

First the positives: this was our first time at the restauarant and we would most likely visit it again. The food was very good, although the corn fritters as the app are not that good. However a number in our party had the meatloaf which was excellent. Would certainly reccomend it.
The reason for the average review is something went wrong with our order and it took a very long time for us to get our food. Literally several parties came in after us and were served and finished their meals before we got ours. We finally said something to our waitress who did come back and say they had lost our order. Not sure what that meant. We eventually got our meals and they were good. Also gave us desserts on the house. Hopefully next time service is better and it will be better than an average review.
