They have a soft shell crab special, and I asked if the crabs were fresh or frozen. Fresh, they said. It would have been better of they were frozen. My crabs tasted like ammonia, that's how old they were.. And we got cheesecake, which was OK, nothing fantastic. Very disappointed.

Interesting diner atmosphere with tasty desserts. Many menu choices but the quality just isn't there anymore. Just so so. Small kids might not care as long as they get their French Fries.

Had stopped at The Spot years ago with relatives and it was very good-then. Today not so much. My wife ordered a fried fish entree which spent too much time in the fryolater. Her steak fries were the high spot of her meal. The coating was hard as a rock and the fish was tasteless. I had the rueben burger. The sauerkraut was old and did not resemble the real thing. The freshest item was the two slices of tomato and the bed of lettuce. Had a cup of yellow bean soup and that was OK. Had a side salad with limpy lettuce. Rest room was dated and not the cleanest. Staff OK but had to ask for a staff member to get my server to present the check.

We eat here at least once a month - usually for brunch. Good for seafood, "American" food, Greek and Italian entrees, And dessert. Oh my, the desserts!

Breakfast is served all day/night, breakfast specials from 5AM to 11 AM only. Try the French toast, made with huge slices of Challah. So good.

Very family friendly. High chairs and boosters for the asking.

The Spot has three separate sections for meetings - two large, one small. One large and one small are available virtually any time (with notice, of course). The third is available during non-peak hours.

Saw the bad reviews, but had to charge the car, so stopped there twice. First time had just pie. Was ok.
Second time had lunch, chicken kebab with fries and salad for $16.50. all three were pretty good. I guess you have to order the right thing.
