Quite by chance we discover this lovely spot. Truly marvellous staff and great food. Alas they ran out of Gambas

Need to go back to this terrific spot

We went with another couple for dinner on Saturday evening. Service was poor, we had to stop and ask a waiter so we could order drinks and to give some idea, we sat down at 7.30pm, we were left got our devices until 7.55pm and main course was not served until almost 9pm.

Two of us ordered the mixed grill and while it looked nice on the plate, the piece of steak on each plate was tough to the point of being inedible. To provide a degree of balance, one of the other diners ordered steak and that was well cooked and reasonably tender.

I would not rush back and would hesitate to recommend the Black Boy. Very disappointing overall

A last minuets booking for Mothers Day. A very friendly village pub where you could chat everyone in the bar and play with the dog.
We got the last meal before they closed for 2 weeks for a refurb, so we are looking forward to going back in the future.
The meal was superb served with efficiency and a smile
On a fine day there is great view at the back across the farmlands of North Bucks and Northamptonshire.

Is it the norm for the young women with unruly hair to do or tie it up in a clip behind the bar whilst working and serving customers. Having worked in the industry for many years this is a first for me!!!!!

A friend lives in this beautiful village and recommended the Black Boy for a hearty Sunday lunch. Our table had a great view overlooking the surrounding countryside.
The whole meal was delicious and even though I’d had a filling starter and then roast pork I’m so glad I decided I had room for dessert...lemon meringue posset...AMAZING!
The service was great, the kids had smaller versions of the Sunday specials and we only charged £6 each for them! Good value for money in a beautiful setting, hope to come back soon.
