“"Our Victorian Christmas"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 December 2011

Here it was Christmas time and our son and daughter-in-law had a house full. We needed a nice place to stay that was close to our family. To the rescue the "Lewis House". Preston was so accommodating and made us feel like it was a second home during the holidays. He served us a delicious breakfast with a fruit compote, cheesy eggs, fresh blueberry jam and juices of our choice. What a treat!!!! We could of hung out all day but had to get back to our family. A must try country inn with its beautiful Victorian style. It was just beatifically decorated for the holidays with candles in every window and white lights through out the inn and beautiful evergreen balls with lights hung on the outside porches. We had the pleasure of staying in the Garden Suite with a kitchen, bedroom, large bath with a shower and a claw tub. Thank you Preston for your great hospitality. We will be visiting again soon.

Been staying at the Lewis House for many years now, as work regularly takes me to Albany. Typically the Green Room - love the gas-fired fireplace. Preston and Diane are wonderful folks. Couldn't recommend more highly.

My fiance and I had been thinking of relocating to the Saratoga Springs area and we decided to stay a bit away from the main city and decided on the Lewis house. We we not disappointed! Preston Lewis prepared a fresh hearty breakfast each morning, and my favorite being the cheesy eggs that he bakes. There is fresh jam and fruit that come from his own garden, and great conversation. Preston is very knowledgable of the area and gave us the best recommendations on where to eat including 50 south restaurant right on Route 50. His fresh baked brownies made my weekend as I LOVE chocolate and ate my fair share of them. The house was absolutely gorgeous form the beautifully painted exterior to the elegantly decorated interior, it was a pleasant atmosphere of relaxation. We stayed in the green room and the best part was the fireplace inside of the room that kept us nice and warm at night. The bed was super comfy, the in room bathroom was a good size, and all of the linens and towels were clean and smelled fresh. The grounds surrounding the house were beautiful as there is a coi pond and gardens where you can sit and relax and meditate. We hope to visit the area again and we hope to stay at the Lewis House again.

Room Tip: Thee of the four rooms have fireplaces, a very nice feature if your traveling during the cooler mont...

We spent two nights at Lewis House in hopes of escaping New York City for a quieter, cozy place. We rolled in around 9pm Friday night and our room key was tucked in an envelope and sitting in a tiny basket by the back door. We gingerly let ourselves in and, finding the place well lit with refreshments set out for us in the kitchen, immediately felt at home. We found our way up to the Burgundy Room, settled ourselves in and came back downstairs for fresh-baked brownies and hot tea. Everything about the room was perfect, from the remote-controlled fireplace to the claw-footed bath tub...we had to peel ourselves away when it was time to leave. Breakfast each morning was quite a spread and every single item served was delicious. The owners are so enjoyable and friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way possible. Without us asking, Mrs. Lewis rinsed out an old orange juice jug so that we would have something with which to bottle up spring water in the park and Mr. Lewis picked us fresh pears from the garden for our trip home. We also learned that the house is up for sale, which, were we not tied down to the city for the next several years, would be a serious consideration for us. We recommend this place whole-heartedly and are looking very forward to our next visit, assuming it is still a B&B. :)

We spent last weekend at the Lewis House and wished that we could have stayed much longer. We chose the Burgundy Room and it was magnificent. We checked out the other rooms before the guests arrived and they were equally impressive. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and very filling. Coffee in the kitchen with Preston and the other guests was a great way to start the day. Preston offered a bag of local apples which covered lunch on our first day. Preston and Diane are warm and generous hosts who share their beautiful house with guests and make you feel welcome immediately. When checking out, I left something valuable in the room which I didn't discover until I arrived home. I called Preston that night and the item was shipped back to me the next day. You will fall in love with this place!
