“Leave your worries on the plains and head towards the magic of Taos!”

We really needed to get away from Texas! Heat, hail, moth invasion, etc. We took the opportunity of our daughter visiting from Canada, and bringing our grand-daughter, to head for the hills of New Mexico. Brad and Michael could not have made us feel any more welcome than they did for the 2-3 days we stayed with them at la Posada de Taos. Brad explained all the intricacies of current human endeavors in Taos, along with a flavor of the energies expended in assembling an adobe B & B, while Michael cooked up terrific breakfasts. My wife and I stayed in La Casa, which was like being in our very own space, while our daughter and grand-daughter stayed in the Taos room, just across the patio from us. Everybody was delighted by the presence of our grand-daughter, all 9 months of her, and we truly felt as though we were in a home away from home. Plus, Brad keeps a listing of every single restaurant worth dining at in the area, and the ones he recommended the highest were A-1. We'll be back!

My husband and I stayed at La Posada de Taos for our wedding anniversary and loved every minute of it. We arrived early, expecting to have to wait until 4to check in, but Brad was there, showed us to our room, and made us feel immediately welcome. We stayed in la casa, which was a neat room across the courtyard from the main house. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. We loved the privacy and peace in the room.
When we checked in Brad also gave us a map of the area and easy walking directions to the plaza. The location could not be more perfect. We were an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Not needing to drive and worry about parking is a definite plus.
The breakfasts are served family style with the other guests and the innkeepers, which we really enjoy. It's great to meet new people, hear about things they have done in Taos, and get ideas for our plans for day. If you don't like talking to people then it's probably not ideal for you, but even my extremely introverted husband enjoyed the experience.
The food was absolutely amazing. Michael is an incredible chef and you can see the care he takes in using quality ingredients. I also really apprecite the attention shown to my food allergies. Michael and Brad definitely understand all kinds of special dietary requirements and make an effort to accomodate them while still serving delicious food.
Brad and Michael obviously love the Taos area and we enjoyed talking with them and hearing about Taos and the local history. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it!

My family stayed here for two nights in April. Had a fantastic time and very restful sleep. The location was perfect for exploring the Taos plaza area. The breakfasts are gourmet - probably the tastiest homemade B&B fare that we have ever encountered. The innkeepers were very cordial and helpful - all around very nice guys - the kind of people oriented folks who clearly love what they are doing and doing a great job at it.

An 'excellent' rating could be achieved with a few simple improvements. The rooms are a bit worn - in particular the wood floors could be rebuffed and resealed and the old, stained, pull out couch should be replaced - or at least reupholstered. The polyester bedsheets should be replaced with cotton. I know it may not be a big deal to some folks, but once you've tasted the breakfast, you will understand: polyester sheets are simply incongruous with the level of service in the other dimensions.

We always appreciate every review from our guests. Thanks! They mean a lot to us.

It's important, however, to let our future guests know that we only use 600 thread-count Egyptian Cotton sheets. Guests have raved about them in their previous reviews here on Trip Advisor and elsewhere. In fact, many of our return guests have purchased them from us and taken them home or given them as gifts.

Our son and family live in Taos so when visiting we stay at La Posada de Taos. Our family own Mudd-n-Flood which is walking distance to Bent Street. The proprietors, Brad and Michael make every effort to make you feel welcome as well as filling all your needs. Our family of four join us for breakfast every morning; a special treat for all of us. It's definitely a flavor of the Southwest; beautifully decorated rooms and gardens and a comfortable breakfast room. Michael is a gourmet cook. The granola is the best ever! Brad is well versed on New Mexico so we enjoy hearing about the history. He's also involved in the town of Taos. Taos was voted as one of the best small towns in the U.S, by Forbes Magazine and the Smithsonian. Jan and Oz Pieper

Room Tip: Brad and Michael are excellent in matching you to the perfect room. Just tell them what you want.

I stayed at La Posada de Taos for 3 nights in March 2012. The inn is a beautiful adobe structure that has been tastefully and appropriately expanded. The furnishings are all southwest flavor and design and of the highest quality and aesthetic. There are many books, magazines and board games for guests, and afternoon nibbles are provided. The room I stayed in - the Beutler - was large by any hotel standards with a sitting area and fireplace, a king size bed and large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The bed was extremely comfortable with the most delicious sheets I've ever slept in. There were small refillable glass containers of bath salts for the jacuzzi tub, special make up remover wipes, a lovely glass pitcher and glasses for water and many other thoughtful and unique appointments. A backdoor opens onto a large grass area with lawn chairs and tables. All in all, one of the finest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in.

The breakfasts are all made from scratch from top ingredients - usually prepared by one of the inn keepers. Occasionally another chef is invited to cook for the guests. While I was there, such items as orange, basil, cornmeal Madelaines, gluten free mini-muffins, poached eggs with lox, asparagus, cherry tomatoes topped with moray sauce and caviar and crepes were served. Along with these come the daily serving of fruit, home made granola, yogurt and juices. If you have special dietary needs, let the innkeepers know in advance and they will accommodate you. They serve great coffee and make soda and bottled water available throughout the day.

The inn is within easy walking distance of the plaza, art galleries, community center and the Harwood Museum, as well as many of the popular Taos restaurants. One of the innkeepers is a Taos historian and can help with what's fun to do and see in the area.
