“Good atmosphere, delicious desserts”
Reviewed 18 March 2012

Service was good, entree menu choice uninspiring although food when it arrived was good. Dessert, chocolate roulade, was to die for.

“Doc Martin's does New Mexican”
Reviewed 16 March 2012

It is a toss up between the chile relleno or the blue corn chicken enchiladas. I could not decide so I got them both.

Very good food and service. Reasonable prices. Lots of locals. Lobby area with live music and bar service is very popular.

“Great ambience - worth a visit”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

This restaurant is worth a visit for the ambience and the history of the building itself. The lobby bar is a great place for a pre dinner drink and to listen to some music. When we were there in March, the fireplaces were going - it was a great place to get in out of the wind. The food at Doc Martins was very good. My husband had an elk burger that was exceptional. I had a Wahoo special that was good, but not exceptional. The rabbit and rattlesnake sausage appetizer was really different and good. One of the members of our party had a filet mignon that was really excellent. The wine list was pretty good, and there were lower cost selections that were still really good (try the Buxom Blonde Chardonnay). Service was very good and attentive.

“Taos Landmark...don't miss it.”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

We stayed at the Taos Inn so not only enjoyed Doc Martin's restuarant for dinner but also for breakfast. The dining room was packed but our server was very attentive. My Seared Duck Breast with walnut, pear salad was just delicious. My husband thought his NY steak was very flavorful but a just a little chewy. At $27.00 though (compared to the 35-40 we usually pay) it was a great value.

We also enjoyed both a before dinner cocktail and after dinner entertainment in the small barroom just across the lobby. Friendly and interesting bartenders.

I don't recall what they called our breakfast entree but it included absolutely delicious muffins and scones. More than plenty for the two of us. Hey, when in Taos you have to try this place.
