I was expecting great things of this restaurant...and it is in a charming location, but quite frankly the food was not that good for its reputation or the price. The soup tasted only of chile and the fish was dry and flavorless. The best thing on the menu were the cornmeal muffins - delicious, but muffins do not make a gourmet meal. The chef needs to add some flavor to the meals and not count on local and organic to carry the day.

Beautiful, relaxing setting in a refurbished church. Attentive service. The 2 types of corn muffins were outstanding. And...they make their own butter. Delicious. My friend and I had the ruby trout and it was cooked to perfection. If you are in Taos visit this special place!

If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation and lucky enough to have your checkbook or cash then get your lucky butt into the essence of Taos. Next door to the nicest hotel in town, Hacienda Del Sol, the food and service were New York exquisite. Triple beets, sausage, and trumpet mushrooms all delicious, made shoving down our desert of homemade pear-ginger ice cream a challenge. Very merciful markups on wine, and generous by the glass pours.

Our B & B highly recommend The Love Apple because it is so close--walking distance. They made reservations for us because they know how tough it can be to get in at popular hours. The restaurant has only 15 tables to serve a loyal local following and the "word of mouth" endorsements of local people. To show you how good they are, they take ONLY cash and checks--no credit cards of any kind.

The restaurant is an attractive historic building inside and out! The old ceiling is beautiful. The inside is warm and cozy with a real "glow" that make you feel good. The food is outstanding and the service matches the food. The wine list is excellent--try the French malbec! The prices are very reasonable for fine dining.

This is a good choice for a nice meal in a quiet place the meets the definition of "romantic."

We had dinner here during a four-day weekend. Not a ski weekend, but one for great dining, visiting museums and relaxing. This was our first time at The Love Apple and we had a wonderful time and a delicious meal. We will definitely be back next time we're in Taos!
