It seems to me that since the last time we stayed here, about three years ago, the inn has crossed the line from lovely but quirky and a little funky to semi-luxurious at comparatively budget prices. As before, the rooms and common areas are filled with beautiful and historic paintings and crafts, which in Taos is really saying something, but I found myself noticing more "comfort" items this time--good lighting, comfortable mattress, new TV, more room to put your things, especially in the bathroom. But the biggest change for the better was the improved breakfast, which at our last stay consisted of store-bought sweets. This time we were delighted to be served real waffles, cooked to order, and to see more variety on the continental buffet, including good fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs. We've been to Taos many times, so we didn't need much tourism guidance, but I heard Paco giving a lot of information to other guests. It's so great to see a good place get even better.

I had a wonderful stay at La Dona Luz this past week. The inn is not only in a great location, right next to the Taos Plaza, each room is a piece of art, expressing southwestern style by carrying forward either a Native American or Hispanic design.

However, it is the hospitality and warmth of the staff, that makes you feel very much at home. I highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling to the Taos/Santa Fe area.

I will definitely be returning to this very special place. Michelle Michalski

We loved our stay in the Madonna Suite, and the price was quite reasonable. The theme is Madonnas, and there were scores of them--on the walls, windows, fireplace, bedspread, and much, much more. The brass beds were very comfy, with tons of pillows. There was a fridge, microwave, TWO flatscreen tv's, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, and the bath had jacuzzi jets and a skylight. There was also a two-tiered balcony/deck, with tables and chairs and lots of greeery and flowers. We enjoyed every minute there. I know you will too!

This B&B was a great surprise! There was wonderful art in so many forms. You lived it in the decor, you tasted it in the food and you breathed it in the air. The owner has done an amazing job incorporating style, color and comfort in everything you need. The cleanliness and personal attention was all 5 Star .

We spent two nights at La Dona Luz. The room we stayed in (the Yellow Bird Deer room) has a separate living area (with a day bed), a jacuzzi in the bathroom and the living room opens onto the lovely courtyard. Despite being situated next to the Plaza, there was private parking and it was very quiet. Lovely place, beautifully decorated, very nice hosts.
