I love this little house that the Blumenschein family lived in; not better place to showcase their art work. It has his art work of course, but also bodies of work from his wife & daughter, also his friend. He was one of the first artist to stumble upon Taos, and fell in love with this area.

After visiting the Kit Carson Home and Museum and learning about 1800s life in New Mexico, my son and I stopped here. At the Blumenschein Home and Museum we learned about early 1900s life. The home still contains their original furnishings, as well as a wealth of art. It was interesting to learn how they expanded their home as they influenced the New Mexico art movement. It was definitely worth our time.

This was the actual home of artist Blumenschein and his wife and daughter. There is art by both husband and wife with original furniture as well. Allow about 45 mins. to go through.

What a treat to learn about this talented family--not only art but also ball sports a very competitive level!! Lots of travel to Europe to expand knowledge and learn from others! The artifacts in the home are a history lesson and the family photos priceless. Worth the time to visit this attraction!

The Blumenschein family was important in the early Taos artist movement and the family's work is interesting but not as notable as many other artists of the period. The house is furnished as it was in the 1930s and 40s but has a worn feel that might be enduring if it weren't a bit sad.
