If you are looking for a great safari experience you definitely have to go to Bateleur! You can even do walking safari following tracks of the big five! We saw elephants, lions, giraffe and many other animals on our walking. The lodge and staff are superb. Nothing to wish when you do your safari here. Night/evening safaris are great with seeing lions and leopards! Thanks Maria, Reinhardt, Lucky, Comfort, Sophia and Brad! We definitely come back!!!

Excellent, friendly & caring service from the wonderful staff. Reinhardt and the lovely Maria hosted us and could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable. The focus on an eco-friendly lodge is a huge plus! The rooms are newly renovated and the camp environment has a rustic zen feel. Reinhardt and Temba are incredibly knowledgeable guides - the additional Bushcraft talk and demonstrations are an informative experience. The food is lovingly prepared by Comfort and Surprise with the emphasis on healthy seasonal food. The Game viewing was brilliant with the utmost care taken to respect the animals' environment. Thank you to everyone, I was blessed to experience this unique & authentic camp and can highly recommend it.

We stayed at Bateleur Safari Lodge in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve in June 2018. What a great experience! The Ranger & Tracker were very knowledgeable and did not only show us the animals, but also the smaller interesting things that one tend to miss on a regular safari. The lodges staff were amazing, the food was excellent and the accommodation was clean and very comfortable. All and all I give them a 10 out of 10. Well done guys!

We had the most amazing experience at Bateleur Mobile Camp. Initially it was a bit daunting to see what we would be experiencing, but we soon got used to the very simple toilet and were amazed at how little water we actually needed for a shower. This mobile camp is set in the middle of the bush and is completely unfenced. Wild animals roam freely through the camp site which makes it an exhilarating experience. We had hyena, buffalo and even leopard walking through the camp at night.
Lutz Otto of Spirited Adventures was our guide and ranger for the 4 days we were there. His knowledge and experience took it a whole new level. We went out for game drives every morning and afternoon, always ready for a walk. On our first morning walk we encountered a leopard by chance whilst tracking lion. Wow! That we almost jumped out of our skin is an understatement. Lutz and his team controlled the situation very professionally and at no time did we feel we were in danger.
Our other walks were just as exciting with a successful tracking of elephant. With the walks comes a massive amount of education of trees, insects, animals and how eco systems function. It is a constant learning experience, with excitement, and exercise in the bush.
Question: Would we do it again?
Answer: In a heartbeat!
Highly recommended and be sure that Lutz Otto is your guide!

A wonderful weekend stay - lovely comfortable tented accommodation - all recently upgraded. Solar powered, therefore, no hair dryers - which is great when in the bush. Great deck on the river bed (which was dry) - however, lovely to sit and relax or just read a book. Plus a lovely pool to cool off in the Timbavati heat! Lovely hearty, prepared meals after been out in the bush on game drives. We had the privilege of being given a Survival Course by Lucky should one be stuck in the bush - very informative. Lovely game viewing - saw 4 of the big 5 (have still not seen that elusive cheetah)! Another great first for us was tracking one of the big 5 on foot - and we got to find them after a 3 hour walk.. Brad and his Team are so accommodating, they could not do enough for their guests. Will definitely love to revisit this beautiful Camp.

Room Tip: As we had a site inspection - all the tents are furnished the same, however, one of the new family tents over looks the River Bed.
