We spent 3 nights in Simbavati River Lodge with my wife and our daughter end of october. The lodge is really nice and the game drive were great. We had stunning experience observing several leopards. The food is fantastic and the staff very helpful. We are recommending Simbavati River Lodge.

Talk about a trip of a lifetime. I took my dad to South Africa in September and we were fortunate to spend his birthday at Simbavati River Lodge. Our indivdiual accommodations were outstanding. The staff were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and sweet. We truly felt like royalty. The game drives were equally excellent and each day brought something fresh, new and unexpected. While the overall trip was enjoyable, it was made extremely special by Gladys, Mbong, Caswell and Vusi. Gladys especially went above and beyond by organizing a surprise birthday cake. We spent a fantastic four-day trip here and both my dad and I plan to definitely go back -- this time separately. :-)

Room Tip: Listen to the staff -- don't go out at night alone.

Did an all inclusive here and just loved it. The upkeep and room cleaning, preparation, etc all happened while the guests are on safari. Then you get back and its all fresh for you to relax and enjoy Africa. The Butler is there for your food and drink, the spotter to escort you to and from your double-tented accommodation. Loved it!

Room Tip: accommodation can be far from the main block.

My partner and I recently visited Simbavati with some friends and their two children. Whilst we have been lucky enough to have visited a few private lodges before this was the first time for our friends. When we were asked by them to suggest a lodge we had no hesitation in recommending Simbavati. We were correct. This is now the only lodge we have stayed at twice. From the moment we arrived to be greeted with a huge welcoming smile from Borgi to the time we left nothing was too much effort for the staff at Simbavati. We subsequently met Borgi many times during our stay, her sense of fun and infectious laughter was totally engaging. I have very rarely met anyone as happy in their work as she is. The meals once again were superb. Our waiter Ralph was more than attentive to our every need, he became a friend to all of us. However as with any safari the highlight has to be the game drives, and here Simbavati truly delivered an amazing experience. Our ranger Kyle and tracker Humphrey were brilliant. Kyle’s enthusasiam and love for the creatures in the reserve, from the largest mammal to the smallest insect was incredible. So much so that one of the children with us now wants to be a ranger when he grows up and work with Kyle. He also has a great sense of humour which led to some excellent banter when we were on game drives. Humphrey’s knowledge of the bush is second to none. He was kind and considerate at all times, especially with the children. One of them was desperate to see a scorpion which is obviously very difficult to do when driving around, but he managed to find one when he took them out for a walking tour, which is still being talked about. If anyone reading this is thinking of doing safari in South Africa I’d say to them, Do Simbavati. Already looking forward to our next visit. Very best wishes to the Simbavati family from all of us.

Where do I start? We took our 2 daughters (12 & 15) to Simbavati for 3 nights and had the experience of a lifetime. The setting was stunning, accommodation luxurious, food fantastic & staff brilliant (thank you Obi). Our guide and tracker (Kruger & Hemet) made sure we saw everything- Lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, giraffe, zebras. A real adrenalin rush, going through the Bush for sight of one of these magnificent animals.
