We ended our honeymoon with 3 days at nThambo and we loved it. It's very homey and the small staff makes it very quaint.

They prepared a special private dinner under the stars with champagne for us for our honeymoon.

Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable. We learned a lot from our guides there that we didn't get from the camp we were at beforehand.

My only complaint is that the bathroom in the room was a bit poorly designed. However, everything was very clean and totally functional.

I would definitely go back.

We loved our stay in Nthambo and highly recommend it to others who are looking for a smaller lodge with great personal service, casual attitude but with luxury service, and amazing wildlife. The rooms (individual treehouses) were great (the hot water bottles were a perfect surprise when we got into bed) with super comfortable beds with an intimate feel with nature. Nthambo is small, you have excellent meals at a communal table which lets you get to know your fellow travelers and also the guides. This allowed for some great conversations over a wide range of topics. Our guide, Ryan, and tracker Isaac were perfect. Extremely knowledgeable, professional but very approachable, and enthusiastic about what they were doing. With them leading us, we saw lions, lots of elephants, wild dogs with pups, a huge herd of buffalo, giraffes, a pangolin, countless antelope, and tracked two white rhinos on foot. An amazing place, highly recommended.

Best trip I've ever taken!!! The staff at Nthambo was awesome! Lodging was incredible and unique! Completely surrounded by the bush without any fencing was a great experience. I'm definitely coming back!

Wonderful rooms, like a tent on stilts! Rustic luxury and close to nature! The most comfortable bed, and the hot water bottle at night was much appreciated :-) The staff were welcoming and friendly. Game viewing was fantastic. We had elephants around our room on our first night! I don't want to launch into a huge review and describe every little detail of our stay because everyones' experience is different. Just go there and experience it for yourself :-) My only wish is that we could've stayed longer!

This was our first safari experience, and immediately on arrival, we felt part of the family. From the home style meals to the cozy fire, we had a lovely time. Our tent was comfortable, and the hot water bottles contributed to a comfortable sleep. Our guide was very enthusiastic and our tracker took time to educate us on a variety of bush experiences that we will never forget! We had opportunity to experience a wide variety of wildlife, including mammals, birds and plants.
