We only had one night at Tremisana, but what a nice stay it was. We were greeted by Monkeys and a very comfortable room. Our evening Bush Drive included a wonderful BBQ out under an amazing blanket of stars where we were visited by Hyenas at the end of the meal. Our bush walk in the morning brought us to the Hippos. Followed by breakfast where we were visited by a family of Warthogs. Our two driving "safari" delivered Lions, Elephants, Warthogs, Impala, Nyala, Giraffes, and Zebras too. A great introduction to what we will see in Kruger.

Room Tip: We were in "Hut" ten, really a room in a larger hut. If the water tank is too full, you might get a bit of a shower opening the door.

Hi Richard

Thanks for a great review !

We are pleased that you enjoyed your room and the welcoming monkey committee.
The Bush BBQ is quite something and the Hyena are really turning this experience into something very special.....

Sounds like you were very lucky on the drives at Tremisana - Lions and Elephants and general game all add to the wildlife experience.

Kind regards

Piero

Me and my husband arrived in south africa 18th july 2017 for the 6 day treehouse/lodge safari trip and we were picked up by viva safari right outside the airport and were dropped off at tremisana. The grounds are absolutely stunning. The staff are so friendly. We was greeted by pretty who was very helpful and friendly (she always had a smile for everyone) our highlight of the trip was the morning bush walk with Ed and Raymond, we learnt so much from them and we even got close to a giraffe and some hippo's. I couldn't recommend this place enough (the beds are so comfy, after 20 hours of travelling this was like paradise) the room was absolutely perfect and the braii by the boma was one of our highlights. Thank you so much for everything.

We were part of the Viva safaris tour so had our first night here. It was brilliant. Dinner under the stars and the night safari were magical and a real bucket list moment. The monkeys were hilarious. Make sure you do the walking safari no matter what! It was incredible! I need to get more bush chocolate. Hal a lah! ;-) (that's an in-joke, you'll have to stay there to get it!)

Or family of 4, our sons are 18 and 22, loved out time here and with viva safaris. We chose the 4 day package with marcs treehouse too. It is a long drive from Johannesburg but we were ready for that. We had a family room here and it was small but adequate for our short visit. We loved the experience, with lovely grounds, good mosquito nets and a good shower. The whole trip was exactly as advertised and the walk we had with Rex and Raymond was a real highlight. Our game drives with Shannon were perfect and her passion for what she does was infectious. The boma dinner on the first night was a treat with honey badgers trying to share our food and the food back at the lodge was also nice. They have a small honesty bar with drinks the same sort of price as Johannesburg. Bear in mind that tips are expected for all the staff so have some currency ready after each activity. Would highly recommend viva safaris and this package. Ps. Look out for a visit from Flash the resident squirrel

Hi Lynn

I have read your review and also " Loved it".

We are pleased that your experience with Viva Safaris " was exactly as advertised" and that you so enjoyed the Bush Walk with Rex and Raymond. Viva is fortunate to have such talented and experienced rangers !

We are also thrilled that you enjoyed our young intern, Shannon. Despite her youth, she more than makes up with enthusiasm which I am pleased to read was "infectious".

The honey badgers at Marula Boma are becoming quite famous !

Thanks for your recommendation.

Kind regards

Piero

Visited 5 years ago solo - booked Moafrika lodge in Johannesburg (linked to viva safaris) Picked up at airport picked up from Moafrika and by Viva for transfer to Tremisana
6 hour trip with lunch then straight into the action
I stayed two nights in Tremisana before moving to Marcs treehouse
Why review 5 years ago now? because I just repeated it exactly with my wife and a friend last month.
once again the owner Piero could not have assisted us more however the entire team from lodge staff to knowledgeable rangers all have the same happy attitude and friendliness on constant display.
I have sung the praises of Viva Safaris for years and now they have two more ambassadors -
What a great trip and seeing the big 5 was great but that was just a cherry on top of a fantastic trip.Waking to roaring lions was also unbelievable
Two trips five years apart, same company but with different staff yet same perfect outcome - that's not luck that's a well managed and staffed company whose team are obviously happy in their positions and this was at both Tremisana lodge and Marcs treehouse.

Back to Moafrika before heading home and three wonderful tours booked with them really completed the holiday - they also have a fantastic team

I hope I get to return for a third trip in the future and enjoy the benefits of Vivas experience again.

Thank you Viva team for making our holiday fantastic

Room Tip: stayed in three rooms and all good
