We stayed at Dulini Lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve for 3 nights, and we can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had.
We flew in from Johannesburg by Federal Air (only about an hour from Jo'burg and the planes land 5-10 minutes away at Ulusaba air strip), which was great, as the drive from Jo'burg can be long, and were picked up by our game ranger, Zwaii in the landrover, a fun start to our time at Dulini.
The setting of the lodge itself is beautiful - peaceful and quiet, with a romantic colonial feel to the lodge - the suites are huge, with about 4 different living areas, the bathrooms have big Victorian baths overlooking the bush as well as outdoor showers, plunge pools and sunloungers and you wouldn't know anyone else was there.
The game drives were fantastic and we saw many different animals (Big 5 over and over again) - Sabi Sands does have quite a few other lodges, so you do tend to see other landrovers full of tourists, but thats unavoidable. Our ranger asked us what we wanted to see each drive, and then managed to take us pretty much straight to it, which was very impressive!
The little touches were just the best - one morning we had a surprise breakfast in a dried out river bed, and when we arrived there, the table was laid and the eggs were cooking - bliss! When we came home from an evening game drive in the cold, a bubble bath had been run and a bottle of chilled champagne awaited us - complete luxury. As it only has 6 suites, it really is pure luxury and very exclusive and nothing is overlooked.
The staff were really lovely people, especially Matron, and the food and service were absolutely unfaultable. We really didn't want to leave and as avid safari lovers, we are going to find it difficult either to find somewhere as good, or indeed to go anywhere else! One thing I would say is that this luxury doesn't come cheap - but we felt it was worth every penny for the wonderful stay we had there.

I kept meaning to post this review but was too sad that I wasn't at Dulini any more. My husband and I stayed at Dulini Camp for 4 nights for a 10th anniversary trip. We had also spent some time in Cape Town and along Walker Bay but Dulini was definitely the highlight of our trip to South Africa.

Let's see...was the highlight of our terrific stay our knowledgeable guide (Zwaii) and eagle-eyed tracker (Isaac), our attentive "butler" (Octavio), or the up close and personal view of lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffe, rhino, vultures, buffalo, elephants, hyena, dung beetles, etc.? All of the above!

The bungalows themselves were very nice (huge) and the hot baths drawn for us after our evening game drives were a welcome touch. The camp staff was incredibly warm and welcoming.

We had looked at a lot of other camps in Sabi Sands and chose this one because of it's small size and because it seemed luxurious yet unpretentious. (The last thing we wanted was a bunch of high maintenance guests on a game drive.)

We loved the intimacy of the camp - only 6 bungalows. For our game drives we only had 2 or 4 other people in the jeep with us (plus the guide and tracker). It really made the game viewing more enjoyable because we had a lot of room to spread out and get some great photos. And wonderful, fun guests - no one was afraid to "relieve themselves" behind a termite hill out on a game drive!

Not to miss -- a bush walk. There is nothing more exhilirating than walking through the bush with your guide not knowing what's behind the next tree!

As part of our South Africa trip, Dulini at Sabi Sands next to Kruger NP was our final stop after four days in Cape Town. This was our first game viewing experience so we did not know what to expect apart from hoping to see some big cats. Our travel agent "go2africa" booked this lodge for 3 nights on an all inclusive basis and arranged internal flights and transfers.

On our very first game drive, we saw a lion pride, a number of elephants as well as a leopard. By the time we finished our sixth final game drive, we had seen all the big 5 as well as number of other animals although we were told this was not of the best season for the game viewing. Our ranger Zwaai and tracker Remember were seasoned skilled guides who had an in depth knowledge of all the animals we saw.

The lodge was also outstanding. We enjoyed the food and extremely friendly service. We would definetely recommend it to anyone who can afford it..

Stayed for 2 nights here and two nights at Exeter River lodge. Two very different places but fantastic all the same. Both lodges plus about 6 other local lodges all traverse the same grounds so it really is a choice of accomadation rather than a worry over sightings.

The lodge is amazing, so quiet yet beautiful. Had elephants virtually drinking out of our plunge pool, a leopard walk into camp and a whole host of other animals wander around and through the camp.

We saw all big five in the first 24 hours and got VERY close to all of them. We were feet from Lion and Leopard and saw both the big group of male lions with a kill and a pair of Leopard mating (apparently very rare to see).

Food was excellent and the staff flawless. We had a few issues with flights and they did their best to sort them out.

As an aside, if you plan linking this lodge with Mozambique DO NOT FLY MOZAMBIQUE AIRWAYS - they are awful and tried their best to be obstructive. Fortuntely Dulini more than made up for it!!!

We stayed at Dulini for two nights as part of a larger safari trip. We had stayed at Ngala for the previous 3 nights and the accomadations here were much more luxurious. The rooms were enormous and it was nice to be part of such a small group of travelers.

Having just 6 people in a vehicle is fantastic. We saw other lodges where someone was stuck in the middle seat - I would've hated having to lean over someone to look! While we didn't see as many animals here as we did at Ngala and in Chobe, we still enjoyed the experience. We saw large groups of elephants and quite a few leopards.

The service and food at this lodge was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The only caveat was our safari guide seemed a little timid - his pace was a little more suited to a senior citizen bus! However, this didn't seem to be true of the other guides at this property.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again in a heartbeat.
