My husband and I stayed at Dulini as part of our honeymoon in South Africa in Dec. It was absolutely perfect! Everything is taken care of in Dulini. Everytime we stepped out of the room, housekeeping would tidy up – even if we had only used a hand towel. You don’t even have to bother to order a meal. This property is popular with honeymooners and couples so they go to great lengths to give you privacy. At all times outside of the Safari, they make you feel like you are the only ones there! There are only 6 suites and each one has a living room, bedroom, shower, tub, outdoor shower and private plunge pool. The rest of the Lodge is open to the wild and we saw some Impala graze nearby while we were chilling on our deck. Keep in mind that it is the wild so there will be spiders and lizards living on your pool deck.

We had a personal butler "Reply" who took very good care of us - Leaving hand written notes for us every time we went out. The Safari experience was amazing. Our ranger William and tracker Isaac were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, reassuring and accommodating. They made sure each one us us got to see what we wanted to and that the Safari was super fun. They went to great lengths to ensure we got to see the Big 5 up close. Look out for sun-downers where they set up a makeshift bar right in the middle of the reserve and toast to the day!
Since we were on our honeymoon, on the first night they set us a private candle lit dinner in the wine cellar. On the next night, when we got back from the evening safari, our room was decorated with candles and a bottle of champagne and dinner was served in our suite. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to start our honeymoon. It was beautiful, luxurious, warm and peaceful and fully worth the money we spent!

Dulini Lodge was, for both of my husband and I, the best part of a special 40th birthday South Africa trip! First of all, the staff is outstanding. Leisha was friendly and helpful, as was Isaac, who was seemingly always there seeing that every need was taken care of! Our butler, Given, was stellar! He immediately paid attention to our preferences and was always on hand to provide helpful service. The food was delicious and plentiful. We also enjoyed the Boma night where the staff performed songs and dances, including wishing me Happy Birthday! Despite having record rain, the staff provided outstanding service. The rain ended up being a bit of an adventure for us, but we understand that there was a lot of damage to other resorts, which is a shame. As to the game drives, both Patrick, our guide and Tyrone, our tracker, were fantastic. We saw all the Big 5, plus hippo, giraffe, zebra, hyena, baboons, nyala, impala, waterbuck, and wild dogs. We had an incredible chase after wild dogs on the hunt – very exciting!! Patrick was knowledgeable and entertaining and Tyrone could spot the tiniest things! The room was specious, well appointed, with a fabulously comfortable bed; due to the weather, we unfortunately didn’t get to use the plunge pool much! However, it was very slightly showing its age in some spots; for example, one of the sinks had a stain and the deck showed signs of wear. But these are very small negatives, because overall, we loved the room. This was a great lodge and a great value for the money!

Room Tip: Ask for which rooms get the best game sightings.

We went to Dulini 1 year ago on our honeymoon and I still can't say enough nice things about it. It was so lovely.(October 2010)
First, the room/house was amazing it was huge and very private except for the occasional animal roaming in the field behind! It was very comfortable and clean the shower was amazing and the bathroom was huge! The plunge pool in the back looked good but i'm a baby and it was too cold for me.
Service, was great. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Our ranger was William and Isaac was our tracker they were super cool and fun to spend our mornings and evening with or the night drinking by the fire. They really worked to make sure we saw everything that we wanted to which for me was baby animals(hence my photo on TA).
I loved the cocktails during safari and all the fun surprises like champagne under the tree, dinner in the room etc.
The food was great as well my husband and I really enjoyed it.
I loved this place so much that I talked a friend of mine out of going to Mauritius so that she could experience an &beyond safari(unfortunately dulini was booked but she stayed at another property and was blown away)
**The only thing I didn't like were some of the other guests ha. Some were great and we had fun but others were rude and obnoxious to the staff and while on safari. But there is nothing I or the property can do about that! So if you plan to be rude or obnoxious do us all a favor and don't go and put a damper on other people's good time!

We went to South Africa on safari to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We stayed at three lodges, the last was Dulini. We saved the best until last. They only have six small stone houses at the lodge, so you are bound to be pampered - and we were. Even though the lodge is in the middle of nowhere, the food was absolutely fantastic. I don't know how they do it. The only complaint about the food is that there is too much of it. We could not possibly eat everything. The stone cottages are like having your own little house, complete with pool. The furnishing were very nice. The bathroom was gorgeous. Every day was very special and magical. We had one dinner on the terrace, one dinner in the wine room, and, on one evening another guest had a birthday, so there was quite a bash, complete with singing and dancing from the staff. It was lovely. We had a excellent game drive guide and tracker. They both had extensive knowledge of the wildlife and we saw so many beautiful animals and birds. We were never rushed when watching the wildlife. As we work with wildlife ourselves, we were put off by the emphasis on the "big five" throughout South Africa, as every single animal is interesting, and our guides were aware of our feelings, and felt the same way. This was more money than we would normally spend on a place, but we left feeling it was expensive, but worth it.

Room Tip: it would be hard to go wrong here, all rooms are great.
