My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at Notten's in March, 2012. This is the closest experience you'll ever get to the real thing. Notten's is one of the most authentic private game reserve experiences we've had in our travels. It's not over the top but extremely comfortable. The food is exceptional and every meal is a surprise. The candle lit dinners were out of this world. Dave Notten, Dale and the Notten family treat you as one of their own. In a travel world that's become luxurious but impersonal, Notten's took us back to another time, another era when luxury meant warm, attentive and polite service at every turn. We loved our game drives and thought our two rangers, Jeff and Fox, must be two of the best at Kruger. We saw the Big 5 not once but several times. What a great place! We want to go back.

We had a lovely time at Nottens bush camp. The game drives were excellent although with winter coming jeans an a jacket was required. We saw the big five and hippo hyena and terrapins amongst lots of birds and antelope thanks to the hard work from our driver and tracker, chase and Gideon. The children's game drive was lots of fun for my daughter. The rooms are lovely and the candle light and gas lamps really make you feel like you are in the bush. Great and friendly service made this a perfect family holiday, we could not have felt more welcome, this is a special game lodge - thanks to all at Nottens!

We have stayed at most of the lodges in the Sabi Sands and Nottens is one of our favorites. It is family owned and run and that personal attention to the place really shows. It is a less expensive option that many of the lodges, but with the same game, a wonderful staff, great rangers and comfortable but not over the top accommodations. The rooms are large and airry with a simple at home feel. The lack of electric lights makes it feel like you are in the bush and I loved that. If you are looking for a more affordable option in the Sabi Sands this is it.

....the superlatives could just go on.

My wife and I had four nights at Nottens in March 2012 and were entranced by every aspect of the experience. The beautiful, romantic oil lamps in the wonderfully equipped cabins, the superb food served in a different location every evening, the attentive staff and the superbly skilled and knowledgeable rangers and trackers providing wonderful sightings of all kinds of wildlife, not just the big 5, all combined to make an unforgettable experience in the most positive way.

Go there.

My family spent 4 nights with the Notten's Bush Camp last week and what a great and magical experience. We are a family of 5 and had 2 rooms at the camp. Upon our arrival, the staff greeted us and helped us with our bags and took us to our rooms. That we were a family of 5, they actually gave us our own Land Rover along with a ranger and tracker for our complete stay. We went on a total of 6 drives and the experience and hospitality was top notch. When the animals were not easy to be found, we were able to spend time tracking the animals and the ranger and tracker showed and told us how they track. The radio was used when needed, but it was not like other camps where they listen to the radio and drive you there. We were actually looking and tracking the animals. That in it self, made the experience more real and not like a Zoo. When we found the animals, the ranger got us so close, we felt like we could touch the animals. After all the years of these guys doing this job, they were so excited to find the animals as much as we were. The ranger even went out of his way to take our children out on their own drive during the day to show them other parts of the bush. The staff back at the camp went up and above to make our family feel very welcome. They adjusted their meals to meet the needs of my family's dietary needs. This is a 3rd generation camp that is very much a family owned and ran. The best part of the camp was the lack of technology and electricity. It was so nice to not have air conditioning, lights, etc to take away from a camp type experience. I highly recommend this camp to anyone that is looking for a true, safari experience. They nailed it. Thank you to the entire Notten's family

Room Tip: Our room was the furthest out, very clean, secluded and just amazing.
