We had the most amazing time at Tydon safari camp. We did the 6 day safari. 6 days was perfect, every day was a new experience. We had time to relax and really take in everything. The staff are fantastic! Gavin, Joy Lyam and the rest of the help do a superb job making you feel at home, comfortable, and well fed. The knowledge of our guides(Joy and Lyam) was never ending and impressive to say the least. We saw all big 5 and much much more. We watched leopards mate, lions mate, baboons mate, saw a pack of wild dogs, black rhino, All amazing. We loved the sundowner in Sabi Sands. Sipping wine or beer and having yummy snacks watching the sun go down in the bush is a superb feeling. We enjoyed getting to see both Krugar park as well as Sabi Sands giving you the ultimate experience possible.
The food was delicious every day, and enjoyed spending the evening sitting around the campfire sharing stories with the other guests. The accommodation was great. You get the feeling of camping and being in the wilderness but with little luxuries. The tents are very clean with a full bathroom and air conditioning. We loved going to bed listening to the lions groaning at each other. It was also a good time to be there for people who are not bug lovers. There were very little to no bugs, and beautiful hot(29-33'C) weather.

Gavin has put together a wonderful place to visit and we would love to return one day. We also cant thank him enough for insisting to drive us from Tydon camp though the border to Mozambique to the city Maputo. With out Gavin escorting us it would have been a very scary experience. He gave us a great smooth start to the next portion of our honeymoon.
Tydon is a great place and I would advise anyone I know to stay there. Keep up the good work! cant wait to return!

Our experience at the Tydon safari camp was wonderful. The tents were comfortable (air conditioning, separate toilet room and power shower!!) and clean. The welcome was warm and hospitable and the knowledge of the rangers impressive. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Eating dinner with the other guests and hosts around the camp fire was lovely and I would certainly recommend the experience. Joy and Lyam's knowledge was really impressive and we learnt a lot and saw a lot, inlcuding black rhino and lions on the hunt at dusk. We did a three night safari which included both Sabi Sands and the Kruger Park, neither of which I would have missed. We had a memorable trip back to Jo'burg airport with Gavin and saw some amazing sights on the way home. Sad to be back in the cold! If you want a 5 star hotel in the bush, with five course dinners, then this is not for you. If you want a relaxed, homely, welcoming camp with people who know their stuff and want to share their enthusiasm with you, then this is the place for you.

We really enjoyed our stay at the camp; the 5 day safari camp was really a great experience, with the unique combination of sabi Sand private reserve and Kruger national Park. So nice to have opportunity to do safaris in these two different environments...!
The staff was just perfect: Gavin, Joy and Lyme know a lot about wilderness and do everything to make us enjoy every moment of our stay.
The camp is well located, tents are very confortable and well-equiped, and the atmosphere is great with few people in the camp (12 max) from everywhere.
The guides were top-class and we had the chance to see the big five and much more.
Wish we could be back some time!

We booked our trip with Tydon based on the 100% excellent reviews they had on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed at all. We had the pleasure of interacting with Gavin, Vangie and their two sons and haven't more warm, geniune and interesting people in all our travels. The two rangers Lyme and Joy were also extremely knowledgeable and fun.

The tents are quite luxurious with hot water and air conditioning in all of them, but still retain the outdoors feel which would be lost if living in a luxury resort. Vangie and her team are great cooks and the home-cooked meals, though simple were some of the best we had in our entire trip in South Africa.

All airport transfers are done personally by the team and they were nice enough to drive us by the scenic route on our way back to Johannesburg. Would highly recommend entrusting your safari experience to Tydon.

Great value for money. Friendly people who have a knack at making people feel comfortable. we are planning to go again with family if not to Sabi then as soon as the Okowango trip is up and running.
THe tents are amazingly well set up with full comfort, clean and welcoming. Great food for dinner, and overall a very warm and friendly atmosphere.
I loved having the opportunity to experiance Sabi:)
