We had not eaten here for 10 yr. or more. It is still as good as ever, and although the owner/ chef has passed, his wife still keeps a loving and keen eye out to be sure the high standards are kept, insuring a delightful and delicious meal. Our favorite restaurant for dinner in Taos!

We were bothered by gnats the entire time that we were at our table. That was bad enough, but then while we were eating our main course, the house cat jumped up on the chair next to my partner and I. We both don’t like cats and especially don’t like to eat anyplace one is allowed to wonder on the table tops. An animal should never be allowed to wander around any restaurant. It is not hygienic and is totally unacceptable. Maybe the gnats came from the dirty bathroom. But the food was good.

Home made Italian with a bar to watch the chefs grilling. An historic location with art all around on the dining room walls worth cruising and contemplating with a glass of wine in your hands. Service was good.

My husband and I have been eating here for years, and the quality is consistently excellent. We always come for the "mangia festa" which is a wonderful bargain at $12 for a three-course dinner that includes soup, salad, and a pasta dish. The cozy dining areas are filled with art from local artists. Each dinner starts with a basket of homemade bread, and the homemade pasta and desserts are to die for. This is a Taos institution that should always be on any tourist's itinerary. In a town with so many good restaurants, the Trading Post ranks at the very top.

We live very near this restaurant and have eaten here for years. Friday night when the fish arrives brings wonderful specials, bouillabaisse, flounder, salmon, etc. These are all hard to find in Taos.
