“Old-fashioned motor lodge”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

This Best Western reminded me of all the motor lodges our family traveled to in the 60s. You drive up to the lobby, check in, and then park in front of your room. The rooms are on two floors.

The room was dark because there were not enough light fixtures and the large furniture made it a bit crowded, but otherwise it was fine. The only thing you should know is that there are train tracks running alongside the street this motor inn is on, and the freight trains run frequently, blowing their horns. We like trains, so this was not a problem for us.

We loved the hot breakfast served just off the lobby, booth seating with a server to bring you your coffee or beverage. The room had a microwave, a refrigerator, and a coffee maker, and the wifi was excellent.

If you are passing through Las Cruces or visiting for awhile, you can't do better than this place in terms of both the cost and the amenities. The room was huge, fresh, and interesting. Tilework set off built-in headboard and side tables around the bed. Open-beamed ceiling made the room airy. Little touches everywhere added up to a room well beyond what you'd expect for such a modest price. The staff was friendly (even called the room to make sure everything was all right after check-in) and the breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was the best we'd had from between the east and west coast. We stayed at about 6 different Best Westerns on a round trip from California to Kentucky. This was the winner!

Room Tip: A room in the building farthest away from the road makes sure that you don't notices the occasio...

OK....we were on a road trip back from San Antonio and stayed for one night. The room was dark and dirty. Sand on the dresser and floor. Spiderwebs on the ceiling. The room was large and the New Mexico decor was nice. But the beds were hard and the pillows were lumpy. It really just seemed a little out of date. The service was excellent though. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was in a nice cafe, but the food was just ok.

My daughter and I stayed the night during a road trip to California and I would stay again and recommend this hotel - friendly front desk staff, very cute, clean rooms. The breakfast was very good - there was a large selection of items - eggs, bacon, sausage, waffels, cereal, whole fruit, yogurt, pastries, juices, coffee - something for everyone and a great way to start the morning! The area is very centrally located - easy on and off of I10, there is every fast food chain and drug store very nearby. Also there are awesome mountian views from this area!

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are quite - I did read in a review about a train - but we only heard one and that was...
