This hotel is so full of charm and has many original features, the rooms are so smart and well laid out. We stayed for just 1 night and really enjoyed Berat. This would be a great location for a longer stay for sure
The staff here are excellent and very efficient and friendly. Breakfast was a bit quirky with many local foods to choose from.
You can park right outside the main entrance if you are lucky or a about 20 metres further up the hill which incidentally is on the way to the Castle as well.

Room Tip: Annex area was nice and quiet

It's definitely one of the best hotels we stayed in in Albania. It's warm and welcoming. The service is fantastic, the rooms are very nice and decorated with local crafts. The location is ideal for visiting all the sites in Berat. They also have a very good restaurant, which should not be missed. It was one of the best meals we had in Albania. We should also mention the 15 (or more?) kinds of rakia they serve in their bar.

We visited the Hotel Mangalemi as part of a small group tour. This hotel is in an excellent location right in the UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk outside and see the old town or Berunt.
The hotel owners have restored the old building to a high standard. Inside it is modern but tastefully decorated with old memorabelia from the recent past. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The hotel restaurant is good, serving excellent reasonably priced food. As a vegetarian I was offered a vegetarian plate that had a range of Albanina vegetarian dishes, a pleasant change from salads! Breakfast in the restaurant was good.

Room Tip: All rooms good

A must if you are in Berat and need to stay even though for one or two nights. You will be missing it once you'll have left it. Right in the centre, the hotel has a really nice staff, both at the desk and at the reception. Rooms are in a traditional style, but perfectly well equipped with all comforts: a/c, modern showers, minibar with water for free, comfortable beds and so on. Breakfast is served on the terrace and it's lavish: cheese and ham, bread, pastries, two kinds of juice (never tried cornel juice, tasty!), beverages, cereals and so on. Very cheap prices and much nostalgia when leaving. Really much

The Mangalemi has a very welcoming atmosphere. Our room was a little dark, but cool and pleasant, with a small terrace outside. Breakfast wasn't wonderful but it was as good as anywhere else in Albania.
We looked around for alternatives but ended up eating in the hotel on both nights of our stay simply because we didn't find anywhere better. It was very pleasant eating on the upstairs terrace in the evenings.
