We booked this place because we were hoping for an 'authentic' stay on Phu Quoc. And in theory, the huts are pretty and the planting that surrounds them - however, there are too many 'buts' which made the experience not so great. Overall, the management of this place is chaotic - things do not seem to run very well. There arent enough staff who speak English, which makes communication very difficult - there was never any hot water - the cleaning of the rooms and bathrooms was not great either. The dinner they offer too is completely overpriced - you can be a group of 2 to 4 and eat out in a local restaurant for LESS than what they charge per person for the communal dinners.
I believe there are other much nicer resorts on/around Ong Lang beach which would be a much better and more relaxing experience and stay on Phu Quoc. I would not stay at Freedomland again unless it was clear that new management and staffing had been improved. Which is a shame; because we had high hopes for this place - it needs a better direction and steer.More
