We had booked and paid a 30% deposit for this accommodation, had not replied to a couple of emails about Aussie dollar going down and then received an email telling me that my booking was being cancelled as I was being rude.
We were not due to travel until late September.
I apologised for not replying to emails however they would not listen and insisted they would not honour my booking.
Better Offer perhaps?
Would avoid if you like certainty of travel arrangements.
Returning to Villa Kipas after a 5 year hiatus and nothing has changed, not one thing.
The villa is maintained to perfection and nothing is amiss, the owner and staff are to be commended for their slick professionalism and hospitality skills.
Positioned in the heart of Seminyak right in the middle of Eat Street, Beat Street, and just 50mtrs from the beach.
Just returned from 7 nights in this fabulous villa. Driver collected us from our transfers back from Lembongan Island which was great as the location is slightly hard to find for most cab drivers. The villa management has this sorted with business cards you can take with the address and map so once there you should be right. The villa is on the road that backs on to the Oberoi but it's actually easier to walk to the beach and then along as the roads are quite narrow and rough in the dark. Villa has this sorted with torches too. The villa isn't brand new but it has been well maintained and the staff that service the villa are lovely. Beds were brilliant, shower pressure, like most parts of Bali, pretty ordinary but clean and has all the mod cons. It was fab to book direct with Neil, an Aussie who gave us heaps of good info and answered all requests in a really timely manner. We splurged as we would not normally spend so much on accommodation in Bali but wanted this location and it was my 40th birthday. Given they knew this we were met with 3 staff singing happy birthday and a cake. Fridge was stocked with 12 free bintangs, mixers and fruit so this made the first day easy. Gede then helped hubby get cheap bintangs up the road. Kids loved feeding the fish daily. In house massage was great but probably have other treatments at other spas for better result and cheaper prices. Sri, the masseuse, was a dream and looked after our kids brilliantly. We all loved her !!
Overall an awesome villa. Ended up just chilling here given its privacy and that it was lovely and quiet. A very restful holiday and nothing would have been too much trouble. Even gave us a very late checkout - 6.30 pm as they knew out flight was really late. All we had to do was vacate 1 bedroom so they could clean and the other by 6 as guests were coming I late that night. Have a return guest discount so even thought expensive we'd love to go back and we don't often return to the same place twice.. The only thing I'd do next time would be more selective with breakfast. They give you a daily menu the morning before so they can prepare, but some were a bit OTT for my taste. This is a personal thing. I didn't like the local yoghurt in the parfait and some of the dishes were a bit strange. They were really flexible with the kids breakfast which was great. They mostly had eggs and bacon but we tried a few things and probably should have just stuck with that or toast. That said we asked for Nasi Goreng a few mornings that it wasn't on the menu and Gede organised this. Great. Plus the bread - just toast with jam, was actually great. Yummy jams.
The fact they give you 2 phones with credit is a massive bonus. You can go out individually and contact one another, plus organise your own bookings or transport or whatever. You won't be disappointed if you choose this villa. Thanks Neil.
Spent seven amazing nights at Villa Kipas & loved it. The location, whilst a bit hard to find at first (luckily we were picked up from the airport), was so close to the beach, which we enjoyed greatly. The villa isn't too far from the many amazing restaurants (& shopping) Bali has to offer, but we were more than happy to spend many nights enjoying sunset, dinner, drinks & live music on the Seminyak beach. The private pool is lovely, a bit refreshing as it is quite shaded from the hot sun. I expected to hear a lot of traffic noise as there is a road right out the front, but wasn't too bad at all & handy for the taxi drop offs if you don't feel like walking. The best part about staying at Villa Kipas was the staff, Gede & Iluh. They were amazing, cooked the best breakfasts we have had in any of our villa stays, were attentive to our needs & just beautiful, happy people, always greeting you with a beautiful smile.
There was absolutely nothing that was missing - from walking in the front door to walk on pavers through a pond with flowers, fish and water feature, the beautiful inside outside simple but elegant design of the Villa, with its 2 big ensuited bedrooms (plenty of hanging and shelf space!) and the really gentle Balinese people who looked after us with such care. You have to see if Made is available to be your driver....knows Bali well, is great to talk all subjects with whilst on amazing side trips. The Villa is just 2 mins from the beach, there are plenty of very good restaurants and coffee shops, but if you didn't wnt to leave the comfort of the Villa, you don't actually need to. Will definitely be back fo longer next time.
