The meal was excellent and nicely presented. Everyone in the party enjoyed their meal.
Affordable corkage but also has a good selection of wines.

Very expensive and not very tasty. Some food wasn't even fresh! I am pretty sure the cake with toffee sauce was microwaved. There also aren't vegitarian options at all.

We had a wonderful evening at Field & Food. The food was delicious, good quality and the service was friendly and efficient but professional.

We ordered the set menu, ie goats cheese, roasted beetroot and onion tart, duck with spiced red cabbage and res wine jus, the amaretto creme brûlée and the chocolate tart with espresso and brandy. It did not disappoint as the food was delicious and packed with flavour. The creme brûlée deserves a special mention as it was smooth. rich and very creamy.

We absolutely loved our visit and will definitely be back!

This eatery in the original admin building of the Jail is worth visiting. I left this town almost 40 years ago ( lived five houses down) and did not expect this fine dining experience.

Paulette is a wonderful hostess and the atmosphere, on a quiet winters Sunday night (with France beating Croatia) was completely created by her approach and charm. The setting and decor being minimalistic.

We were offered the standard or the three course menu. We had the Goats cheese, beet root and phyllo pastry tart as a starter. The beetroot and onion sweetness were well balanced by the phyllo pastry. A good starter. For mains we had the seared duck with spicy red cabbage. Yum! The duck were cooked perfectly and the spicy cabbage was excellent. For desert I had the dark chocolate mouse tart with espresso and brandy. What a wonderful dessert! The crumb of the tart was a great container to balance the sweetness of the mouse. My partner had the Amarula creme brûlée. She thought is was heavy on the Amarula but still a great desert. Our daughter , a vegetarian had the same starter and the vegetable sides.

The portion size was less than what would be expected in the country but more than what would be expected when fine dining. The service is personable, warm and authentic.

The wine list, though limited, offers excellent new discoveries like the Du Rand - Van Wijk SMG or Grenache. Try this it is excellent!!!

Fantastic food- well done to the chef and front office.
