We stayed in the family suite which has two bedrooms connected by a sumptuous lounge area. As a family of 4 it was idealic with small but perfectly suitable plunge pool. Waking in the morning to the look out towards the mountains across the vast fields of vines was pure bliss. I cannot recommend this highly enough, Rene and Wellington looked after our every need.

Beautiful property with excellent service. We're a couple visiting from the States. It was our first time in the wine country of South Africa. Great experience at the owners cottage. Rene and Wellington were superb hosts for our short stay at Grande Provence. Rene was able to book massages for us on short notice. Our next visit will not be soon enough.

Romantic and cozy boutique hotel. Very familiar atmosphere and friendly stuff.
Hotel surrounded by many bushes and trees which doesn't allow to see the beautyness of the surrounding and landscape. Rooms upstairs are bad isolated that we couldn't sleep anymore after 4:00 due to the very loud twittering of the birds. Service helpful and friendly but bad trained and super slow. Got wrong informed about wine tour, didn't know what a cafe latte is and we're not able to do one even with explanation, didn't offer us eggs (omelet, poshed eggs..) mixt up twice with room key. Couldn't enter hotel die to missing keys...) The hotel is not worth the money, there are cheaper and better ones

Having eaten here before and been very impressed, we booked to stay in The Owners Cottage. Staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. However room was very disappointing, and smelt as if not used. Also small and a bit shabby. Additionally a number of the lights did not work. Also the free Wi-Fi did not work in the room only in the downstairs lounge area. Swimming pool was dirty with equipment left in the pool and the Jacuzzi was full of leaves. When we asked to eat in the restaurant we were told it was booked for a private function. Not acceptable. Very quiet and only four rooms. Not worth the cost paid.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in late October. It really is s magical and beautiful place. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive - but equally respected our privacy and we're not over the top. The tranquility is evident and we had a very relaxing time. The food and wine were of excellent quality too and Franschhoek itself is a 20 minute walk away to more cafes, shops and restaurants.
A true gem of a place!!
