I stayed at The Karob House during the Franschhoek Bastile Festival and the the town was bustling with eager eater and drinkers. The Huguenots settled here more than 300 years ago who brought with them their age-old French wine and food culture. ( I like history;)The vibe is unlike any other town in the area.
Karob house was perfectly located, 2 mins walk from the main road we didn't have to drive anywhere! One can walk the through the main road in 15 mins but with all the boutique shops and AMAZING art galleries spent hours exploring.
The rooms were comfortable and warm, being a nippy winter, the special touches of heaters being on before arrival was much appreciated. The fire set the mood for a cosy night in after all the walking. I just loved the wood floors.
The host was a wonderful and helpful, they has an admirable permaculture garden at the property and she does interesting work with helping others.
I can definable recommend Karob House as a great self-catering option.
