Decent food, good service decent wine list.
The moulles and frites were tasty - super big mussels and Frenchman fries.
Squid and chorizo was also super tasty and all washed down with a Graham Beck sparkling white. Lovely

In a town that is heavily populated with restaurants, cafes, pubs, guest houses and bistros and that is surrounded by wine estates offering everything from gastro restaurants to bespoke picnics The French Connection fits in well.

The food is excellent and competitively priced as it is almost everywhere in foody Franschhoek, as are the wines. The service is good and the staff well trained, helpful and polite. The carafes of wine are particularly good value.

The decor is simple and relaxing, the tables are sufficiently large and well spaced, seating is comfortable and the ambience pleasant.

A very pleasant place to pass an evening.

Lovely ambience and delicious food. Chevre tart and beetroot risotto are definately worth a try. The fish of the day was grilled and well prepared to perfection. For dessert we ordered creme brulee and choclate fondant which took 20 minutes to prepare but was well worth the wait.

Delicious steak and the house red wine was wonderful. It was a cool evening but we ate outside to enjoy the sunset. Gorgeous and they provide blankets to stay cozy

The French Connection Bistro has a large menu with some very interesting daily specials. The food was lovely and the choice of wines vast. Try to get a table outside: the view over the mountains is lovely!
