This is the second time we're here and somehow I didn't remember to leave a review last time. Shame on me. No it's out of sequence let me just start off by saying whatever you do make sure you get the spaghetti. It's not regular spaghetti. Nothing about it is spaghetti. It shouldn't even be called spaghetti. Just trust me I know what I'm talking about. then we got three appetizers. The fried artichoke was Insanity, they had a special stuffed soft shell crab lightly fried in some ridiculous sauce that if it there make sure you order it, and we also have the yellowtail tuna appetizer which was spectacular. Also before I forget make sure you get this mashed potatoes as a side order because they're delicious. My beautiful and amazing fiance got the chicken with polenta and all kinds of sauce and asparagus and all kinds of stuff. The mushrooms and some light truffle sauce I think was pretty spectacular. I'm not even going to bother waiting to see what happens. Not just in New Jersey but in the tri-state area maybe even more than that we love it

First my pros:good service, waiter very attentive. Nice decor. We order calamari appetizer really good. Pork chop for two people great choice. Now my Cons: we had a reservation for 6 at 9:15,we sat 9:45. Order apps the char octopus very small portion and very chard,a lot beens but the octopus was missing in action. Going to the main dishes portion are to small and to pricey. Not sure if I going back. Plus the menu is not that big. Not to many choices

This is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing restaurants I’ve ever been to. I went to Viaggio for lunch our waiter was very helpful when it came to the menu. But My food was very tasty. The only downside it's on the expensive side, but its farm to table and everything is organic, so you have to expect to pay a little more. Overall this really like Viaggio and would definitely go back

The prices at Viaggio Ristorante say fine dining, but the setting couldn't more informal.

I imagined the farm-to-table restaurant with a Tuscan accent would be in a free-standing building with valet parking, but my car's navigation system led me to one of the many strip malls on Hamburg Turnpike.

And there it was -- a small sign next to Wayne Hot Bagels and Cafe.

We were seated at a bare wood table, where bar wipes stood in for napkins, and we saw an open kitchen in the back of the dining room.

A large wagon wheel on the wall loomed over our table.

The young woman who was our server launched into an overlong explanation of the four-course, price-fixed menu ($53), another list of la carte dishes and a couple of specials.

We loved all of our food, and the service, though informal, couldn't be faulted.

I chose the price-fixed menu -- Roasted Beets, Linguine with Clams but without pancetta, Barnegat Bay Scallops over orzo, and a small scoop of gelato.

My wife ordered a la carte: Tri-Color Insalata ($12) and Pappardelle alla Mema with small meatballs and sweet sausage in a red sauce ($20).

The young chef, Robbie Felice, expresses his sweet tooth freely -- in candied hazelnuts hidden in my wife's salad, and an unexpected sweet lemon accent for the orzo with my large scallops.

We decided to have dinner at Viaggio because we had tickets for a 4 p.m. jazz concert at William Paterson University in Wayne.

Are you returning from Italy and craving their authentic food to table food! If so Robbie Felice Viaggio Ristorante is your fix. Viaggio offered us maybe our best meal in NJ in a long, long time. Viaggio is offering the finest Italian food cooked to perfection with the best wait staff experience we have had in NJ. Staff is attentive and the service is 5 stars. The food is all locally sourced and the attention to detail in this restaurant is obvious. The food was perfectly prepared and the ambiance is casual. Every dish was a hit with the calamari being the best we have ever eaten. The pasta, octopus and the salumi plate which they are curing their own meats was spot on.

I must say Viaggio Ristorante was a wonderful experience and well worth the trip to Wayne.
