Each time I vacation in Spring Lake, I try to return to Whispers, located in the Hewitt Wellington Hotel. You feel right at home in this cozy,
pretty, and delicious restaurant. If you're traveling alone this is a great place to dine. Their specials are tops. Parking is on the street of the restaurant and hotel.

Four of us visited Whispers last night in the middle of a Nor'Easter and are happy to report we had four excellent meals. For starters we were served fresh, baked rolls - right out of the oven. Delicious! We also had the butter lettuce salad and a nicely prepared butternut squash soup (good choice for the cold and windy night). For entrees the homemade fettucini with wild mushrooms and pine nut arugula pesto sauce, topped with ricotta salata was rich and flavorful. Another friend had a mustard glazed pan seared salmon filet served with a vegetable couscous with asparagus tips - simple, balanced, tasty. Another friend had the pan seared chicken in a zesty chipotle sauce with a black bean and corn salsa and yellow rice - another tasty dish. Portions were good - had to bring some salmon and chicken home. Would have brought some fettucini home but my friends finished it! Warm homemade apple strudel with a dollop of vanilla ice cream for desert. Nick and Donna (restaurant owners) came over to say hello. Service was impeccable. Even in the midst of a nor'easter - we thoroughly enjoyed a terrific dining experience. We'll go back when the weather is warmer!

Housed in a quaint, Hotel, near the beach, Whispers Restaurant is a delightful experience. It has everything -- great food, impeccable service and wonderful ambience. It's perfect for special occasions but, then, it is its own 'special occasion.' You will find yourself looking for reasons to go there -- like our group did last evening celebrating 'nothing at all!' We came away with the warmest, happiest feelings, looking forward to finding another reason to be there once again. Thank you, Donna and Nick Bruno!
