BYOB and LOTS of gluten free options! Outside dining! Amazing crab bisque on special tonight! Be sure to make a reservation. They use OpenTable.
Dined outside at Mako's and really enjoyed our meal. As a gluten free diner, I was overjoyed to be able to order a cup of the crab bisque and crab cakes! That's unheard of! You have no idea!! Friendly, attentive bus boy, hostess, and server. Lots of service and check-ins. Crab cakes were great. So was the tilapia with crab stuffing. Delicious desserts! Only complaint was the sautéed zucchini and squash. Too hard. Cook it longer. We will be back to try other dishes. Great evening.

Start to finish Mako's is an excellent experience for nice casual shore BYOB. Bar none they make the best mako. It is always fresh, cooked to succulent perfection. The waitress told us they get full fresh local mako delivered daily which they clean and prep themselves. Boy can you taste the difference!
We've had the blackened mako bites, and various mako entrees. All fresh, light and perfectly cooked. The mussels were outstanding. Be sure to order extra bread to the broth! If there was anything to criticize it is minor. One visit the side vegetables (grilled local zucchini) were completely raw. And the naming of some dishes is misleading. Purely semantics but still. The Crabby Bruschetta is excellent and I would highly recommend but if you order it think of it more as a panzanella as the bread is not a crostini (as a bruschetta should be) but still very tasty and the soft bread lends itself well to being cut up into pieces to absorb the juices made from the tomatoes. The cucumber stuffed Tuna Tar tare is again an excellent dish with a fabulous spicy Asian flare which I would highly recommend, but is actually more of a ceviche as it is served in big chunks marinated in the seaweed salad as opposed to a finely chopped or minced tar tare. Overall great restaurant and a refreshing alternative to the heavily dominating Italian restaurants or typical fish fry seafood houses most commonly found throughout Sea Isle.

Based on reviews thought we'd give Mako's a try. Love the fact tat they have reservations and BYOB and were seated immediately. Service was very good and we started with the Mako Bites, Crabby Bruschetta and Crab Spinach dip. Bites were excellent although portion was small and the other two were ok. The highlight meal was the blackened mako which was excellent. Stuffed tilapia and Salmon Oscar were very good. Will definitely go back again for the mako.

Food and service were good. Small place, BUT worth the visit. Have daily specials, breakfast is delivered fast and hot. Waitress we had was right on the money, didn't have to ask for anything. Dinners are seafood and you have to try their MAKO.
